Do I need an All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicle?

Living in Wisconsin, many drivers tend to think having an AWD or 4WD vehicle is necessary to manage our unpredictable winter weather conditions. And while it's true that AWD vehicles have advantages over FWD ones, both types have pluses and minuses (i.e., fuel and miles per gallon costs).

Keep in mind, with either a FWD or AWD option, if you install winter tires on your vehicle, you increase your odds of better braking and vehicle control.
