Please know: We are here.

We are sending so much love out to those in LGBTQIA communities, and to parents, loved ones, and educators of LGBTQIA youth. The past week has been a trying one, to say the least. We have heard messages of fear and confusion from so many, alongside countless messages of love, support, and commitment to the fight for equality.

We hope that this newsletter finds you surrounded by love and support, and that we are able to help better equip you and yours with much-needed resources as we move forward together to protect the rights of all.
If you have an LGBTQIA loved one, our co-founder Kristin Russo recently authored an important guide called: 9 ways you can support your LGBTQ kid right now. Loving them, fighting for them, helping them to see their history, and ensuring their access to resources are all incredibly important elements.
Kristin was also able to write a piece specifically for LGBTQIA young people, "What Scared LGBT Young People Need To Hear Right Now," which was published on BuzzFeed last week. We are continuing our work in growing that list of resources (for young people and their families alike), and won't ever stop!

We Need Your Support!

In the days following the election, many of you donated to support our ongoing efforts. Thank you. THANK YOU. We do not say this lightly: We need that financial support more now than ever before. Ensuring that young LGBTQIA people have families who support and understand them is critical in a political and societal landscape that is telling them otherwise. ALL of the funds we raise go directly toward ensuring that our resources continue to grow, and are accessible to more and more families in 2017 and beyond.

Now more than ever, we are committed to working hard to educate and support families and educators of LGBTQIA young people. But we can't do it alone: We need your help.

If you are able, please support My Kid Is Gay by giving
a tax-deductible donation through our fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas, or by donting monthly on Patreon.

Our Coming Out With Care package, released last month, includes lots of great self-care tools: a music playlist by Brittani Nichols, guided journaling and coloring pages created by Cameron Glavin, and lists to resources and advice. You can sign up for one here.

We are so thankful for you all, and as always, if you have a specific question please do not hesitate to ask.

xo,
Kristin, Grace, and everyone at My Kid Is Gay
