Update from the Adams' Family

Guten Tag,

And greetings from Germany. The autumn season here has gone by very quickly. Alyson is teaching the Anatomy and Physiology course due to a shortage of science teachers this year. She has been quite occupied with putting together lesson plans, constructing presentations, facilitating lab activities and grading assignments. Teaching this year has been both a blessing and very stressful as it is a subject she absolutely loves, but the time that goes into preparing for the class pulls her away from the kids more than she would like. The small group girls that she helps co-lead are juniors this year and are interacting with each other much better and connecting on a much deeper level.

This semester I am teaching and working with the maintenance team. Currently my mornings are split between my maintenance duties and taking care of Patience Annalyßa while Alyson is teaching. With one of our team members in Canada and the States till at least after the new year, I have assumed many of his landscape duties around the school and dorms. I have become very profient in cleaning leafs out of gutters and drainage pipes. The difference in European and North American methods of doing things still has me learning new things everyday. The afternoon sees me finishing up some of my morning task and preparing lessons and materials for my class. My class this semester is very enjoyable as the students are very much enjoying the hands on learning and want to work with their hands. As my class is smaller due to the space we are in I get to have a bit more conversation and one to one interaction to see what makes them tick. I am also getting ready to start meeting with a new group of students fairly often as we prepare and get ready for our spring service project. I will be sharing more information about this trip at a later time, but the primary part is I am the male sponsor on a trip to help facilitate with the missionary work of a church plant and some other activities in another country.

Herbstmesse (Harvest Festival) is always a fall favorite at BFA. Here we are participating in the tradition of taking over the bumber cars.

First day of kindergarten!

Temprance and Sealey are both attending a local kindergarten in the mornings and are enjoying the friendships they are making. Besides kindergarten both are also in the Cubbies part of Awanas and have been busy memorizing their verses and learning about Christ with their peers. Patience Annalyßa is growing very quickly and is such a blessing to our family.

Thank you for your support and involvement in our service here at BFA. Together we are impacting the students‘ lives for Christ. The longer we serve here, the more we see how God uses BFA to serve, minister, and encourage missionary families around the world.

Prayer Request:

Construction on the top floor of the school to continue to go well.
Safe travels as we head to Nebraska for Christmas.
For Jesse and Alyson to have wisdom in leading their small group.
For us to be examples to the students by living authentically for Christ.
