Starting on Thursday, you may see a new teacher in Miami! Please say hello to him if you see him, and don't be shy! He will also start teaching on Tuesdays instead of Mr. Uthman. Unfortunately, Mr. Uthman can only work on Wednesdays due to personal reasons.

Here is Derek's introduction: 

Hello, my name is Derek Carner and I have been living in Japan for the past two decades. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and came to Japan originally with the United States Military. In 2004 I decided to stay after leaving the service and become a teacher. I enjoy reading, drawing, movies, Japanese culture and a wide variety of other interests. I hope to meet you soon so we can enjoy getting to know one another as we explore the English language. 

 

2. The Term 11 Schedule is out!  Please pay attention to where Term 10 ends and Term 11 begins.  It is different for each day of the week. 

 

3. November Campaign
Thank-you everyone for coming to my school.  It makes me so happy to see my students doing their best and making improvement little by little. Even though I live far from my own country, I think I am lucky that I can still enjoy having conversation in English, thanks to you! I want to continue to make MIAMI an even better school for you to learn English conversation.

4. Private Lessons
50 minutes/ ￥3500
If you would like to practice your conversation, then I recommend you to try my private lessons.  The lesson is conversation only, so I will not use any textbooks or printouts. We will speak on various topics, and I will correct your English as we speak. It is recommended for Intermediate Level students and above.

The lesson is held in a quiet classroom so that you can relax and enjoy interesting conversation.  You may bring food or drink to enjoy while we talk and have fun!
