2016 Inaugural - Oh What a Night!

Our annual IREM Inaugural was held on Thursday, November 3 at The Ninety in SODO where we recognized the exemplary contributions by our members, executive council, and professional partners that make our chapter possible.  This well attended event saw more than eighty of our peers gather for a night of reflection and recognition and culminated with the induction of our 2017 Chapter 27 Executive Council.

A Message from King County Metro –

Parking Space sharing And Income Opportunity

Generate income from your vacant parking spaces!  King County Metro is launching a new, innovative pilot program that allows building owners to generate income by offering vacant parking spaces to transit users that are currently underserved by traditional park & ride lots.

Parking demand exceeds supply at public park & ride lots serving busy transit centers. Building more parking in these areas can be an expensive and controversial endeavor. Existing parking spaces outside of park & ride lots, especially ones in multifamily buildings, may offer a way to increase transit parking without the need to construct costly new facilities. There are many properties around King County that have 20-50 empty parking spaces during the day.  Metro is now seeking property owners in King County to participate in this pilot program. If you own or operate a multi-family building close to frequent transit service, you can learn more about this opportunity here.
First Annual Scavenger Hunt
This was the first year for this incredible event, and what an awesome event it was! We had 7 teams competing for the title, complete with costumes, armed with cell phones taking photos madly all over Pioneer Square, facing challenge after challenge with creativity. Teams earned points by completing a series of challenges all the while shooting photo proof of their feats back to mission central. Everyone involved had such a great time that there were sore cheeks and stomachs for all the laughing!

The photo above is of the “Allied Avengers” who received the best team score in the hunt and are now our Reigning Champs!!  Stay tuned for the next event.
