The $7 Club! We supported our first missionary with $7 a month in 1996. If you wish to support us financially, please do not feel it has to be beyond your budget. Any additional supporter adds great strength for us, even at $7 a month (or $84 for 2016). You can click here to conveniently donate by Paypal. Just let me know so I can ask my agency to send you a receipt for the IRS (in America only). Check out this YouTube video where $85 rocks were sold out; so maybe I can accept suggested donations of $7 for a grain of sand from Pattaya?!

AND MISSION TEAM DATES FOR 2017 are beginning to be filled. Please take a look at my schedule and let me know soon if you want to visit or send a team. If this would be your first visit see my recommended checklist and some detailed options.

Sarah and Timothy are still in SoCal but will go to DC next week. Please email or FB Sarah if you want to meet them. They will return to Bangkok with Lydia on Dec 27. Pray for Lydia's stewardship of finances as we have stopped paying for most of her expenses including airfare for Thailand.

Social Enterprise (SE) isn't something we normally associate with missions. I first heard about SE in Myanmar. Like this woman says in this Bangkok Post article, "I realised soon that you cannot continue to help people as a hobby." SE is something in between charity and traditional business. A lot of missionary work has to do with charity, but my hope is to help people in a way that doesn't encourage dependency, even codependency, as organizations are sometimes perceived as looking for new and exciting projects to impress donors.

General Updates

  • OLC.SCS will have our annual Christmas gathering on Dec 26.
  • Iranian update: I was talking with the father of my son's Iranian friends in my condo, the Shwarma guy, and he asked to be invited to social functions with me! He said he'll eat anything offered in goodwill.
  • I had a great time with Kilang and our friends in India to help launch HL India. Pictured above is yours truly during a visit to the local bamboo factory in Dimapur, Nagaland. Consider making a financial donation to HelpLive or InSearchofSanuk for Christmas.
  • Here's a recent issue of Hopeline Magazine from Global Hope in English. You can donate online here for my expenses as the GH field director; please let me know so I can plan.
  • I set up a secret FB page just for you, but you have to give me your email address for me to add you; I made a little Christmas post for now.

Please Pray that

  1. Sarah and our big children will have a good week in DC together and arrive safely back to Bangkok by the end of this month.
  2. Everyone will have a good time of fellowship during the OLC.SCS Christmas gathering.
  3. God will show His grace and mercy towards the new king of Thailand.
