Happy Holidays from the Task Force!

“This is a classic example of a community that helps others,” ~ Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan.

With the support of our community partners, Big Y World Class Market, local State Representatives and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the Task Force was able to distribute 200 Thanksgiving Turkeys to the local Recovery Community and many of our partner organizations in Franklin County and the North Quabbin region:
  • Greenfield Salvation Army
  • Community Action Food Pantries
  • NELCWIT
  • Montague Catholic Social Ministries
  • The RECOVER Project
  • Valuing our Children
  • the North Quabbin Community Coalition
Representative Steve Kulik and Task Force Co-Chairs Franklin Register of
Probate John Merrigan and Northwestern District Attorney David
Sullivan handing out Turkeys at Montague Catholic Social Ministries.

Thank you to everyone who helped deliver turkeys in the community and make this possible!

Opioid-Related Data and Statistics

Did you know....
  • One third of admissions to Massachusetts substance use treatment programs in 2000 were opioid-related?
  • Almost 1 in 12 Americans over the age of 12 have a substance use disorder?
  • The number of opioids prescribed to Massachusetts residents has increased roughly 7% annually since 2000?
Mass.gov has launched a new interactive website that visually shows the impact of the opioid crisis in Massachusetts. This is a great resource for:

  • Information about opioids and substance use disorder
  • Action steps to address the epidemic
