The Asheville Kiwanis Club meets for lunch, a business meeting and a guest speaker from 12-1:30pm each Tuesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, off Merrimon Ave near downtown.

  • There will be a race meeting December 13th after the meeting.
  • No finance committee or board meeting in December.
  • Several members cooked lunch for Steadfast House on Saturday November 26th and were able to serve about 30 women and children there.
  • Pick up some business cards at a meeting and give them out to potential members and invite them to a meeting.
  • Cindy's mother died this past weekend. 
  • JoAnn M. continues to recover at home.

  • ABCCM has Christmas Cards.  Your donation is tax deductible and 100% of the money goes to support Steadfast House and VRQ.  See Rick at the welcome table to get some cards and support a great cause!
Our Club is helping with the Angel Tree at Asheville Mall on December 3rd from 12-4.  If you are at the mall, come by and see us and choose an angel to buy a Christmas gift for.  
Christmas Shopping Spree with Kids
Thursday, December 15th
Meet at 6:00 for dinner at J&S in Candler, then we'll go to KMart to shop with the kids
 
We will be delivering flowers to nursing homes on Friday, December 16th between 12-4.   If you have a truck, and can help, let Jensen know.  
Speaker Spotlight
 
Our speaker was Lucy Murphy from Eliada Home.
  • Eliada Home was started in Asheville in 1903 as a home for unwed mothers.  
  • Eliada serves over 600 children and youth each year through their cradle to career continuum.  
  • They provide services for 0-22 year olds.  
  • Some of the services provided are early learning, after school enrichment, foster care, day treatment, residential treatment, transitional living, and career readiness.
  • Eliada's mission is to help children succeed.
