Today, my desk is an uncomfortable high top table at a coffeeshop near my parent's house.
Hello, Friends 👋🏽 ! How were the Thanksgiving Day festivities for you? Have you finally emerged from your food-induced coma? We're vegetarians so my mom asks if we'll have enough food since we won't be able to eat the turkey. I told her, "I think we'll be fine eating the 347 side dishes that everyone brought to share." So much food. What a fun day. Oh, and it was my first Thanksgiving with my family in 9 years!

Enough about food and giving thanks. Let's get into the this week's newsletter.

OK Go is a band known for their incredibly creative music videos. They're mind-blowing, actually. Click here and here to see a couple of them. On Thanksgiving Day, they released their newest video which was recorded in 4.2 seconds. You read that right. They made a 4 minute music video out of 4 seconds of footage.  You're going to love it!

I re-watched one of my favorite TED Talks—The Power of Vulnerability by Brené Brown. It's 21 minutes long so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. You'll be better for it! I promise.

You've heard of Brandon Stanton from the Humans of New York project, right? Well, Chase Jarvis interviewed Brandon on his podcast and it's fantastic. HONY started when Brandon lost his job and wanted to do something meaningful. Fast forward to now where HONY has turned into a project that millions of people pay attention to on a daily basis. Check out this great interview.

I had a very meaningful conversation with my friend Kate on the podcast this week. We talk about her upbringing, her uncertain and risky ventures so far in life, and her non-profit, Picture Change

A quick story about a Texas man who stood in front of a mosque with a sign that read, "You Belong Stay Strong. Be blessed. We are one America." As a staunch opponent of the prevalence of Islamophobia in our country, this really encouraged me. We need more of this!

A short article on the importance of execution. If you're like me, coming up with great ideas comes super easily. That's not the issue here. Executing on those ideas is hard because it requires time, energy, money, and a host of other things. But no great thing ever came from just an idea. Every idea requires execution to become a great thing. So, let's get better at executing. Cool?

My friend Dave shared this quote from me and I can't stop thinking about it.

"Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, to share in brokenness, fear, confusion, and anguish. Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery, to mourn with those who are lonely, to weep with those in tears. Compassion requires us to be weak with the weak, vulnerable with the vulnerable, and powerless with the powerless. Compassion means full immersion in the condition of being human." —Henri J.M. Nouwen

Hope you found one or two of these interesting and helpful. So glad you joined me! If you like it and want to support me, please forward it to a friend and encourage them to subscribe. I'm sure you know one person (or ten!) that would enjoy this content.

Love you guys!
