THIS Sunday, December 4th, the Virginia Flaggers will once again participate in the Mechanicsville Rotary/Ruritan Christmas Parade.  This is a wonderful Richmond area tradition, with over 100 units participating in the two mile route, drawing huge, Confederate friendly crowds. This year, the parade starts at 2:00 p.m.

We will be joined once again this year by the Edmund Ruffin FireEaters Camp #3000, SCV, the Sally Tompkins Chapter #2, OCR, and the Army of Northern Virginia Mechanized Cavalry.
We would like to invite you to join us, as well, as we forward the colors, represent our Confederate ancestors, and help ring in the Christmas season!

We are in  Division 7:

All participants need to be at the Division 7 staging area between 1:00 and 1:45.  You cannot park at the staging area.  If you would like a ride to the staging area, meet us at Federated Auto Parts, 8129 Connor Rd. by 12:30 pm, where parking will also be available.  Otherwise, you will need to be dropped off at the staging area, or walk from Elm Drive.  There will also be shuttle buses running from Elm Drive to the staging area.

The parade’s theme is “The 12 Days of Christmas”.  If you have period attire, please consider wearing it, or adding a Christmas touch to street clothing.  Participants will have the option of walking with flags, or riding on a flat bed trailer/float with seating.

Please bring a bag of candy, a smile, and a flag, and join us!  We will have a good supply of flags to distribute, as well.

After the parade, we have reserved the back room at Anna's restaurant for supper and fellowship. (7009 Mechanicsville Turnpike, across from Lee-Davis High School)
