Hello Ministry Partners!

As we wrote, "Hello Ministry Partners" This song immediately came to mind...

"Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning, give me oil in my lamp I pray...Give me oil in my lamp keep me burning, and always rejoices, de burning til the light of day! Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings. Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King."

There is something so powerful in the simplicity of children's songs.  Their simplicity always incorporates rejoicing, praising, thanking and loving Jesus, the King of Kings.  Your faithful prayers and financial support are filling many lamps in Mozambique with oil.  It has opened the way for some team members to travel to conferences to receive more impartation.  It has prepared the way for an AWYesu Women's Regional Conference in Nacala.  It has helped to construct a church and a new clothes washing area for students.  It opened the way for us to travel over 2,800 miles through northern Mozambique to visit Bible School/Vocational Centre alumni students who are in the workplace of education as teachers and to further explore new areas to strategize for the future. We would meet new people in the workplace who have become so lonely as they  continue to wait for the economic  recovery in Mozambique in key city locations.  A listening ear, an encouraging word, prayer brought strength for each one to keep standing and waiting.
Oil comes through different avenues and will always brings the anointing 'to do' the Word.
       E
njoy the photo journal below of our three week journey you made possible.

Together for His Glory!
Jeff & Nicky  and All at AWYesu Nacala

Jackson studied three years to become a public school teacher.  Now he is located in an area deep into a region where public transport rarely is seen and it is best you own a bicycle or motorcycle in good working condition.  Upon his arrival seven months ago, Jackson embarked on training young disciples and after this group of lads received Jesus the afternoon group grew to 12. Every afternoon they are there in his hut area...hungry to learn the Word of God.  Ministering the Jesus film just one night brought fruit to his doorstep the next day.
Jackson's hut area provided an incredible place to set up our roof top hotel. The first day all levels of the fence had eyes peering through.  Early one morning another teacher in his school arrived to hear more about Jesus from him.  Nothing like an early morning coffee, reading the Word, while watching the Word change lives.
Lorenco is a teacher in a secondary school teaching English and other topics as his  wife tends to their little boy's needs who is receiving therapy for CP (Cerebral Palsy). Well respected in the community his 1.5 years in the community started with a carpentry business.  He continues to sell beds and chairs when time permits to strengthen his salary for his family.
Professor Lucas traveled with us to make personal contact with students who he frequently speaks via cell phone...when they have connection.   He was a great encouragement to the alumni and quickly into the journey we realized he was visiting a generation he had trained.  It was a dream fulfilled journey for all of us.
As early as AD600 Arab traders had established contact with Ibo Island and established trading posts and forts.  It is located in the midst of the Quirimbas off the coast of Cabo Delgado and we couldn't pass up a day trip to explore.  It is regarded to be the second most important Portuguese trading center after Iha de Mozambique located 1.5 hours from Nacala. In the old fort was a coffee shop to taste some of the locally grown coffee and to also enjoy the silver work of the artisans on the island.
Lake Malawi's rich sunsets offered a great place to go fishing for men with the Jesus film.  We kept our hearts open and our spirit attentive to capture he unplanned moments for Jesus.
The burning season filled the air with a constant haze throughout the journey, yet the tea fields and Red Flamboyant trees of Malawi were not to be diminished in color.
Every area we visited was different but children always abound who were curious about our camping equipment.  The wind started to howl as we set up for the Jesus film and promptly the screen tore.  What now? Alas, we were at a school's grounds where new construction was taking place.  Perfect!  A cement wall would be our screen.  It was a night of salvation and great celebration. The background of this photo is Eugene's home he built for his new wife.  When a Bible School student, Rodney & Ellie made it possible for him to receive a beautiful smile as a dentist placed four new front teeth in the vacant area. This area is now a home group meeting place.  Prior to our early morning departure, we shared Holy Communion with the leaders.  There was such a sense of unity with the people at that moment.
You know you traveling in Africa when the warning road sign  is for elephants.  Niassa Province is colorful with pine tree forests being grown for commercial use, contrasting the red huts and soils.  When you quickly pass through a village and try to pronounce the name you can only snap a photo to try once again to prounouce.  We always found a Zacheus or two perched in a tree in every location.
Upon our return to Nacala, the Regional Women's Conference was in full swing with 50+ women attending from our five local AWYesu churches.  Pastor Lurdes Jo came with a team of six from Nampula Wa Yesu to join forces with a team of six here in Nacala.  Thank you Lord for incredible leadership that comes together to do whatever it takes.
Join with us as we "Congratulate!"  Agostinho Lisboa (left) and Lucas Francisco Moises who have completed all of their secondary education with flying colors!  They attended night school, kept up their studies, taught with excellence in the Bible School, worked in the churches and were available to help with any project throughout the year.  When these men were in their teens, the war in Mozambique stopped them and many others from completing their secondary education.  Sadly, the same is happening now in the Central Provinces.  Today, we celebrate these two men's completed commitment as they look to future education opportunities.
We are so grateful for you!  Come visit all of us!
