Fantastic Beasts and where to find them... while you still can
This month, we hear from Alison Sudol, who plays Queenie Goldstein in J.K.Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Alison is a big fan of Synchronicity Earth, and a long-standing ambassador for our work. We asked her what she thinks are the biggest challenges in conservation, to describe her role for the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and to tell us about her favourite beast from the film! Read more...

While the fantastic beasts might be entertaining, it's the wonderful, living and breathing kaleidoscope of life that we are concerned with at Synchronicity Earth, and why so many species are getting increasingly hard to find. To learn more, read our sobering look at The Living Planet Report, 2016.

On a more positive note, we take a look at a new funding approach we are developing to support the Cambugán Foundation in the Chocó rainforest in Ecuador, a region of astonishing biodiversity, where efforts to conserve the critically endangered brown-headed spider monkey whilst improving the livelihoods of local cacao farmers show what can be achieved when all the right elements and people come together.

The Bioneers 2016 event in San Rafael, California in October inspired strong emotions and provided plenty of food for thought. In this piece, Jessica Sweidan writes about her experience curating a philanthropy panel, wondering whether it is time for a new narrative for environmental philanthropy. Read more...

You can hear more from Jessica in the latest video from Louis Masai's Art of Beeing Tour in the US. It's fantastic, sad and thought-provoking.
