The Support Personnel Advisory Board is excited to announce December’s Employee of the Month, Don McLemore, Huntsville Grounds/Maintenance. Don dedicates his time and abilities to keep the Huntsville campus functioning and presentable.  From setting up and taking down for functions to obtaining supplies, moving furniture, and repairing leaks, he is always happy and upbeat.  Don takes time to get to know students, faculty, and staff and  truly exemplifies Calhoun’s vision “Success for Every Student”.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, Noon at Salem Springs Baptist Church

Calhoun's Parking Lot Auction is Set to Kick-off Tuesday, November 29th through Friday, December 9th

It's time to bid on your parking spot for the Spring semester. Faculty, staff and administrators will have an opportunity to bid on a parking space of their choice for each building on the Decatur campus and 2 spots for each building at the Huntsville campus. Bidding will begin on Tuesday, November 29th!

Here’s how:
Click here and you will see the “Register” button at the top right

Enter the “username” you would like to use and your Calhoun email address Please note: Your username may not be changed after registration. 
  • Once you’ve registered, you will receive an email with an auto generated password 
  • Log in to the auction site with your username and auto generated password
  • If you would like to change the password click the “My Account” tab at the right, click “Personal Info”, enter your new password twice and save.
  • Click the “All Auctions” tab and begin bidding!
Winning bidders for each building will be announced via email after the auction is over. Winners may choose the parking space of their choice for the auction in which they’ve won. Winning bids of at least $250 are eligible for payroll deduction. Please keep in mind the auction site link will only work on "campus" computers and will end on Friday, December 9th at 5:00 pm CST.

Daikin will award the Minority Scholarship to qualified minority students from Morgan County at their Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast in Decatur on January 16, 2017.

Please help Daikin spread the word in your community to students who may qualify. Scholarships amount up to $3,000. The application opened on October 1st, and the deadline to apply is November 30, 2016.

Applications are available at all area high schools, colleges, and universities, as well as, online at daikin-america.com, under the news tab.

Applicants must print the form, complete it, and mail it along with their transcripts to the address on the form.

Due to the success of the discounted program that was offered to all Alabama Community College System employees, what was intended to be a one-time offer has been extended indefinitely. All employees that were unable to take advantage of the initial offer, you now have an opportunity to do so.

Looking to further your Education?
Calhoun's Foundation Office has a scholarship fund available to employees wishing to continue their education. Employees must be full-time, and tenured at Calhoun prior to the year for which they request support, and have no record of employee performance warnings withing the last 12 months. Further, they must have achieved no less than a 3.0 GPA and at least 6 credit hours towards the degree for which they are seeking support. 

To apply, contact Beth Edwards in the foundation office for an application. 
 

Campus-wide professional development will be held on Wednesday, January 4th instead of Tuesday, January 3rd as is listed in the current calendar. Public Relations will post an updated version of the calendar to the website.

Dr. Klauber has approved for the college to be closed on Wednesday January 4th so all employees can participate in professional development activities.

The results of the current Professional Development survey will be reviewed and used to structure a day that will be beneficial and meaningful to all. Stay tuned for more details as the Professional Development committee meets to plan the day.
