Resonate: Testing Services with a Foundation in Engineering Excellence
Welcome to the Resonate Testing November E-Newsletter.

And We're Over the Line!

After 9 gruelling months we met another major milestone this month with the award of our UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation. Whilst we have been operating the AS9100 quality system within the Group for the last 5 years, the 17025 standard reaches a new level and is testing specific. It is a great achievement to meet this standard and a real signal to our customers about the level of support and performance we can deliver. The team worked incredibly hard to create the system and navigate the audit process in such a short period of time.

We also exhibited at the Advanced Engineering Show during the month which proved an excellent opportunity to meet new contacts and find out more about new markets. In a couple of weeks we will be heading to the Automotive Testing Show at the Millbrook Proving Grounds in England, our first major event in this sector.

And finally in the spirit of Black Friday (how on earth have we managed to get sucked into this event!) we are currently offering a 10% discount on all testing booked before year end and completed by the end of January.

Kind Regards

    Michael Thompson, General Manager

UKAS ISO 17025

The UK Accreditation Service is the sole approval body for ISO17025, a specialist test house standard which is recognised internationally. Whilst the basis of the standard is common to many quality systems, 17025 varies in that applicants must apply for specific test types which are listed within the final approval - These are the types which we can then issue a certified test report to. As part of the auditing process the UKAS reviewers will witness a sample test of each type to ensure that work instructions and processes meet the required standards.

At Resonate we have applied for test types covering Fire & Flammability and Vibration & Shock Testing. Back in September we completed a 2 day audit which covered the main business criteria as well as the review of our flammability, vibration & shock test methods. Following this we have now been granted our certification for vibration & shock test types.

In early November the audit of our fire procedures took place covering aircraft power plant, seat burn, and cargo liner requirements – These are in line with the FAA Fire Test Handbook standards which we have designed our fire lab to meet. This audit went well and we expect to have the additional tests added to our certification in the next couple of weeks.

The gaining of the 17025 standard was identified early on within our business planning as a major requirement in demonstrating credibility to our customers and to ensuring we can operate effectively in the testing arena. We are delighted to have gained this milestone, both to validate how we are delivering our testing services and to ensure our customers can have confidence in Resonate Testing’s capability.

Showtime - Advanced Engineering & the Automotive Testing Show

We had a great event at the Advanced Engineering Show earlier in the month where we displayed a mock-up of our FAA NexGen Kerosene Burner (The actual burner was required for the ISO17025 audit on the same day). The display model drew many visitors to the stand with some very interesting new enquiries resulting.

On the 8th & 9th December we will be exhibiting at the Automotive Testing Show at the Millbrook Proving Grounds in Bedfordshire. If you are interested in attending we will be happy to extend an invite:

We’re also pleased to have made it into print with a feature article in the 2017 showcase edition of Aerospace Testing International Magazine – you can catch the online version here:

Engineering Joke of the Month

Here’s this month’s offering, just to note in advance that my degree in communications and marketing is a BSc…

The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?"
The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"
The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"
The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

Ouch!
