CONNECTING THE CLASSROOM TO THE COMMUNITY: COMMUNITY ENGAGED LEARNING PROJECT SHOWCASE
 
Dr. Taverna and the students in HMB473H1: Exercise and Mental Health would like to invite you to the annual HMB473H1 Exercise and Mental Health Community Project Showcase! Inspired by exciting breakthroughs in the field of exercise and the brain, students in this course serve at local community organizations to provide and participate in programs where physical activity is used to manage neurological conditions, improve lifestyle and promote mental and physical health. To deepen learning, students also design and create a project intended to meet a need of the community partner organization. This event showcases the significant achievements and wide-ranging learning of our students in this important endeavor.
 
When: Friday December 2, 2016 10 AM- 12noon
Where: 40 Willcocks Street, 2nd Floor

AGING HAPPENS BEFORE YOU ARE A SENIOR: ATTEND THE INAUGURAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION FOR SENIOR SUPPORT SEMINAR!
The Student Association for Senior Support (SASS) is a brand new student group supporting seniors and aging. They are hosting their very first seminar THIS week, and will discuss the topic of mental wellness through aging, highlighting the various organizations that support this.

COMPETITION OPEN FOR CANADIANS: CANADA- CHINA SCHOLARS' EXCHANGE PROGRAM 2017-2018
Canadian academics, students and professionals can now apply for scholarships for studies, research, and Chinese language training in China.
Program name: Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program
 Funding organizations: Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China
Target audiences: Canadian students (college, undergraduate and graduate levels in Canada); Canadian faculty members and research staff at a post-secondary institution in Canada; Canadian mid-career professionals
Number of scholarships: Over 20
Duration: 4to 12 months for students; and 8 weeks to 12 months for faculty members and mid-career professionals
Inclusions: Airfare, tuition fees, monthly living allowance, housing, medical insurance, and teaching and research materials
Deadline: March 6, 2017

Join us at our Introduction to R Programming Workshop, co-hosted by TechXplore, U of T's Department of Human Biology and Data Science Club! R is a versatile software programming language with useful built in tools for data analysis in various fields, including biological sciences. Learn how to apply software in your work/research and studies! This is a free workshop and no prior experience needed.
