VIRTUE OF THE MONTH: GENEROSITY

“Giving without counting the cost.”

Generosity inspires gratitude, and gratitude inspires generosity. God is generous to us and our generosity, as St. Paul tells us, gives proof of our gratitude towards God (2 Cor. 9:11).

WELL DONE GRADES 3 & 6!

Author Caroll Simpson visited our school yesterday to share some stories with us. She was thrilled to see the amazing artwork produced by both Grade 3 and 6 who were inspired by her books.

Music Notes

A Time of Comfort and Joy! Thurs., Dec.15th at 1:30 & 7:00 pm.

Though this is not a Christmas Concert year for us, (we'll be putting on a spring musical instead!) we would still love to celebrate the season by inviting all of our families to come and share in A Time of Comfort and Joy. In the evening, we will begin in the church with an Advent Prayer Service led by our Grade 6 Class and then gather in the school gym to listen to the our school bands (both Senior and Junior bands) and school choirs (both Primary and Intermediate Choirs) as they share some Christmas joy! If you would prefer to come in the afternoon to avoid the crowd, (and we encourage those of you who are able to please do so!) the Grade 6 class will have a dress rehearsal at 1:30 and you are most welcome to join them as they prepare and pray. This will be followed by the band and choirs’ performances at 2:00 in the school gym. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for A Time of Comfort and Joy!

YOU DARED TO SHARE!!

Thank you to all of our Assumption families for supporting the Kindergarten and Grade 7 food drive for the Share Food Bank. All week we watched the boxes of food grow in the front entrance. When Share picked it up on Friday they were overwhelmed by our generosity. We collected approximately 1725 items of non-perishable food. Congratulations to the Grade Two class for bringing in the most food. They have earned a non-uniform day for their commitment to feeding the hungry.

NEWS ABOUT PARENT PARTICIPATION HOURS!

All participation hours should now be visible on our website. Please try to access your hours using your home and/or cell phone numbers. Participation hours up to November 20th have been entered. Please ensure you verify your hours as it is much easier to clarify discrepancies now rather than at the end of the year.
