Consultation Results

We received valuable information in the form of completed surveys responses and the conversations at the drop in session. We loved meeting all of you that attended the drop in session, and it’s great to see the local community getting involved in the future of their central reserve.
The survey responses have been collated and have informed the Brooklyn Reserve draft concept design. Considering your feedback, the upgrade to the reserve and the play space caters for a diverse range of users and will provide spaces for both structured and unstructured play, physical fitness, walking, running, quiet contemplation, picnicking, gathering spaces and space for kicking a ball.

Summary of proposed improvements

The concept plan has been informed by community consultation that took place between July and August 2016. Earlier this year, the car park was upgraded and a perimeter concrete pathway was installed. The intent of the improvement works is to cater for a diverse range of users and will provide spaces for both structured and unstructured play, physical fitness, walking, running, quiet contemplation, picnicking, gathering spaces and space for kicking a ball.

The proposed improvements feature a 6m high climbing structure, outdoor fitness stations, musical instruments, a story telling area, trees and shrub planting, a smaller circuit path for kids to ride their bikes and scooters, a multi-purpose goal, bins and a drink fountain. The works also include retaining and improving the popular features you know and love, such as the half court and barbecue and picnic area.

Thank you for taking the time to have your say on such a valuable asset for the Brooklyn community.
