Seasons greetings from everyone at The Venus Company. We hope that you will have a wonderful Christmas and fabulous New Year. To get you into the yuletide mood, take a break from the festive frenzy and pop in to any of our cafés to enjoy a warming glass of mulled wine accompanied by a mouth-watering homemade mince pie or scrummy slice of Christmas cake. Our cafés at Blackpool Sands and The Shops at Dartington are open throughout the holiday period, as are our takeaways at Bigbury on Sea and Watergate Bay (see below for detailed times) and offer a full range of snacks, drinks and meals, as well as a welcome break from the shopping, cooking and entertaining.

Winter Warmer
If you are out and about this winter, enjoying some fresh beach air or are hitting The Shops at Dartington, there is no better way to warm up than tucking in to a delicious bowl of our creamy celeriac soup. Topped with a swirl of basil oil, this delectable chill-beater is accompanied by a scrumptious scone made using celeriac and Sussex Charmer, a unique Parmesan-style vegetarian English cheese.

Celebrate Christmas by the Sea
If you haven't already booked your family, friends or work get together we do have a few spaces remaining for festive celebrations at our café at Blackpool Sands. Treat yourselves to a stunning beach side location and a delicious, locally-sourced, yuletide feast! Ashburton Cookery School Collaboration
Our team has been busy working with Ashburton Cookery School to develop new skills and create new dishes for our menus. Recently we spent time reinventing our canapé range and have added seven new tasty bites to our collection including smoked mackerel lollipops, nori sushi rolls and macarons.

Bigbury on Sea Temporary Closure
Our Bigbury on Sea takeaway will be closed for redecoration from 28th November until 8th December then open again for business as usual. We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming you to our newly decorated takeaway from 8th December.

Opening Hours

The café at Blackpool Sands is available in the evening throughout the winter for weddings, parties and other special functions.
