Meet Veteran Frank Davies

Mr. Frank Davies has been enrolled in the Support Services for Veterans program (SSFV) since August 1, 2016.  When he enrolled, he was facing a possible eviction from his house due to his job loss.  Passage Home was able to step in to prevent the eviction by providing financial assistance through SSVF.  We were able to intervene, bring his account current and prevent the eviction. Currently, Frank has stable housing and is now working part-time while seeking full-time employment opportunities.  Through Passage Home's partnership with Wheels 4 Hope he was able to purchase a car in September 2016 and is now able to access better employment.

Veteran Thomas Goff

I met Thomas Goff in February of 2015 when he came to Passage Home as a referral from our Veteran's department. Thomas had served in the army. When I first met him, he shared his frustration of meeting people who said they would help but rarely followed through. Thomas slept anywhere he could in the woods and his spot in the woods had been regularly raided. He always smelled like firewood whenever we would meet, would seemed embarrassed and apologize.
Through Passage Home's housing program (Shelter Plus Care) we were able to place him in housing he could afford. Once stable in housing his next goal was to go back to school to renew his Commercial Driver's License. Passage Home made it possible for Thomas to go back to school in August and realize his dream.  After 6 years, Thomas is back on the road doing what he loves to do, and now more able to care for himself and those he loves.
