The January 21 SAT has a registration deadline of December 21.  This is the last testing opportunity for seniors applying to college for the fall of 2017.

FINANCIAL AID
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as the FAFSA, is available. It will use the 2015 tax year and a data retrieval tool to pull information directly from the IRS. These changes will hopefully make the financial aid process easier.  Please check with your prospective colleges on their deadlines.

2017 COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES

Congratulations to the following seniors on their recent acceptances:
Jonah Knapp-Wilson
Montana State University
Ashley Maynes
St. Michael's College

ANSWER THE CALL THIS WEEK!
On Thurs., Dec. 1 and Mon., Dec. 5, LTS parents will be operating the phones to contact other LTS parents about the value of an LTS education. When you receive their call, please give to the school's annual fund. The Long Trail Annual Fund helps the school to cover operational costs. We use the money for making this an exceptional school. We have to fundraise every year because the cost of an LTS education runs around $6,000 per child beyond tuition revenue. Your gift --- no matter the size --- will help us greatly! If you have already given this year, you will not be called. Thank you for recognizing the wonderful school community we have!

Parents and students are welcomed to join us to decorate and/or march.  We will meet at the Manchester Rec Park at 4:00 pm. The parade begins at 5:00 pm. The parade route takes a left out of the rec park onto Route 30, a right onto Route 7 and heads up to Equinox Terrace (behind Shaw's Supermarket). Everyone will sing some holiday carols and then head back to the rec park. Parents can pick their children up at the rec park around 6:15.

NHS AT LTS TO SERVE ZITI DINNER
Friday, December 9

On Fri., Dec. 9 from 5-7 pm, Long Trail School’s National Honor Society members will serve up their famous ziti dinner. Students will serve their customers either vegetarian or meat ziti with salad and bread, and complete the meal with brownie sundaes. The ziti recipe has been handed down for decades and is a crowd-pleasing favorite, so don’t miss out! All proceeds from the dinner will be donated to charitable causes in our community. This dinner will be served in the Whalen Common Room at Long Trail School. With The Phantom of the Opera performance at 7 pm in the theater, here is a great opportunity to have dinner and a show while supporting the many talents of Long Trail students. If you have questions or would like to reserve a table for your group, please contact NHS Advisor Kim Rizio at 802-867-5717 x147 with questions.

PLEASE HELP US HELP OTHERS

LTS 6th graders are coordinating the school's efforts as their class community service project. Advisories have been assigned specific food items to contribute. All items are due to advisories by Fri., Dec. 9. Monetary donations (cash only) may also be given to Yvonne. If you do not know what item(s) your child(s) agreed to donate, please check with them or their advisor. Thank you so much for your support!
