In The Spirit of Giving
During this holiday season, our families here at Mead have many reasons to give thanks. Many families in our greater community live in situations lacking comforts such as a warm home, food to eat and family togetherness. In order to give back to our larger community, this year we will be helping the organization Family Promise gather items necessary for families experiencing homelessness. Family Promise works specifically with homeless families containing children to provide safe lodging, warm meals and basic comforts while keeping the families intact and the children out of foster care.
Family Promise is in need of household items such as toilet paper, diapers, wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and shampoo. They are also in need of items related to their 'Going Home, Staying Home' project which helps families while getting established in a new home. These items may include (but are not limited to) trash cans, shower curtains, blankets, towels and sheets. Items that can be washed by Family Promise, (such as bedding and towels) may be donated second hand. We will be receiving these items at drop off and pick up each morning through the month of December. We are excited to work with such a wonderful local organization serving children in need.
While the full devastation from the recent wildfires in surrounding areas may still be unknown, there is no doubt that our neighbors in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area are also in great need of help and support. Many of you have asked about Fall Festival merchandise (t-shirts and note card sets), wondering if they are still available to purchase. For the next two months, the PTO we will be donating a portion of the merchandise total to the relief efforts servicing families affected by the wildfires. Please watch for an email from the PTO with more details. Thank you in advance for your support!
Also, this season do not forget to thank your child's teachers for all of the hard work and dedication they put in each day with your children. Our teachers work extremely hard to provide an environment that is both stimulating and inspiring for our students and do so with a great deal of patience, kindness and cheer. It certainly takes special individuals to choose the work of educating children and hearing your appreciation really means a lot!
A school parent has complied list of the teachers' 'favorite things' which can be accessed on the Parent Portal on Mead's website - password for South campus is Mead37920. Each classroom also keeps an Amazon Wishlist with items the teachers may wish to add to add to their community. Items on the list include books, outdoor activities, art extensions and more! Please visit the Mead Amazon page to view items your child's teacher has requested.

Late Fee Policy Reminder
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and will be considered late after the 6th of the month, and an initial $25 late fee will be assessed, with additional late fees in the amount of $5 per day accruing until paid in full.

Hello Mead parents!
The Adolescent Microeconomy would like to announce that from now on, we will be holding a veggie (and possibly other things) sale every Thursday afternoon for the rest of the school year, to raise money for our end-of-the-year trip. We can accept cash, checks and credit cards.
