Kick off the New Year with #MicroBizMattersDay on Friday 13th January 2017 at Pimlico Plumbers

Tina Boden and Tony Robinson OBE with Premier Partners ScanSnap and Pimlico Plumbers supported also by 123-Reg and Sage proudly present #MicroBizMattersDay

Early Start on Friday the 13th in Pimlico

The third, annual, #MicroBizMattersDay is a global 24 hours of Recognition, Action and Learning where micro (0-9 employees) business owners give a small amount of time to help other business owners - #IGave13 minutes. The focus is on winning #customers and improving #cashflow and it is a ‘crazy but great’ way for millions of owners to kick off the New Year.

Regular famous friends sharing their business know-how live at the London event and in the US (all giving their time free) include Tim Campbell MBE, Penny Power OBE, Kanya King MBE, Laura Henry, Tripp Braden (US), Alysia Silberg (US), MOBO Award winning rapper/Indie label owner, Sway, Michelle Dorrell, Charlie Mullins OBE and superstar 24 year old top 100 UK entrepreneur and paramedic, Chris Percival. They will be joined in the studios, online and at the main event by many other great and inspiring guests so check out http://MicroBizMattersDay.rocks to catch up with the latest news.

In total 8 hours of business to business learning will be broadcast around the world by large corporations, micro, small and medium enterprises, small business networks and membership bodies. They use the links from our broadcasting team SYB TV (Start Your Business Magazine), Paul Lancaster, Plan Digital (Google Hangouts), Nick Peters, Share Radio (national radio & digital), Jo Harrison (Twitter, Facebook & YouTube) and Ed Goodman (Facebook, Periscope & others).

These learning hours will start at 7am with the main event from 12 until 2pm at the world famous Charlie Mullins OBE’s, Pimlico Plumbers, London. The full schedule is here.

Press Conference (and Awards) - Fujitsu, Baker Street, London on Thursday lunchtime, 12th January 2017

Representatives of our Premier Partners ScanSnap and Pimlico Plumbers will be at the Press Conference as will our supporters 123-Reg (powering the #MicroBizMattersDay website hosting and reach) and Sage.

At the press conference 3 awards will be presented, including the favourite fictional micro (0-9 employees) business owner. From a long list of 32, business owners are currently now voting on a shortlist of 3 - Mma Ramotswe, Del Boy and Bob the Builder.

Mma Ramotswe is comfortably in the lead and the co-founders of #MicroBizMattersDay Tina Boden (Bob the Builder) and Tony Robinson OBE (Captain Jack Sparrow) are gutted that their nominations aren’t.

Sage UK have supported all 3 #MicroBizMattersDays and will present an award - details below:

Sage, is the market leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems. It began as a small business in Newcastle 30 years ago and today over 13,000 Sage colleagues support millions of entrepreneurs across 23 countries.

This year Sage decided to launch a competition called ‘Sage Tank’ where they will award the best Business Idea with a package to help support their first year starting up. There’s a strong and diverse set of companies on the shortlist and the judges had a tough time coming to their final decision.

Their ambition for all the businesses short listed is that they will enjoy the same success as Sage and know that as their business grows Sage has a solution that suits your business needs.

The third award at the Press Conference will go to one or more Large Corporation that have in the last 5 years done the most to support Enterprise Rockers CIC’s #PayIn30Days campaign.

Everyone can get involved with tweets and re-tweets. This year's #MicroBizMattersDay trended on Twitter for 5 hours and Twitter will be the main place you can follow how business owners are participating in workplaces, bars, cafes and on social media in so many creative ways.

Everyone can get together with some business owner friends. There are many ways to #IGave13 minutes to help each other including blogging; sharing a video (many business owners and VIPs made a special video in 2015 and 2016) and using social media channels. Offline - about getting #customers and managing #cashflow whilst also watching online the 8 learning hours including the 2 hours main event.

Please donate £2 or more

For every £1 donated - 50p goes to our Hit the Rocks Fund and 50p goes to the expenses incurred in the production of #MicroBizMattersDay and @MicroBizMatters four Global Campaigns, details can be found here.

We are not a membership organisation but a network of networks that is without charge to all. We reach millions because we are so informal, there is nothing to join and no contact details are required.

We don’t waste money on metrics. We survive on donations and the time and money given by the co-founders, since January 2012, Tina Boden and Tony Robinson OBE.

The @MicroBizMatters four campaigns are promoted all year round. They include #MicroBizMattersDay which is totally indie and made possible by our #RockingSupporters, #RockingStarGuests and #RockingHeadRoadies giving their time voluntarily and promoting the day to their #MicroBizOwner customers, suppliers and members.

We do like to pay the expenses (travel and accommodation) of our Head Roadies - your donation helps.

Hit the Rocks fund provides small grants to those self employed/micro business owners affected by serious ill health and natural disasters (e.g. flooding) - your donation helps, please click here to donate

Finally 3 Actions - for Business Owners

1. The #MicroBizMattersDay Big Survey takes only 4 minutes to complete. It's about #Customers and #Cashflow - the results will be  available to all - make filling it online a part of your #IGave13.

2. #PayIn30Days - because of unfair contract terms (eg 60 days) and customers delaying or trying to get out of payment - the average wait for micro business owners to get paid by their larger customers is 72 days. This leads to crippling debt in micro businesses and threatens survival. We've campaigned for the last 5 years that all those organisations that local, regional or national Government contract with, license or fund must pay all their suppliers within 30 days. This would get cash flowing in the economy - over twice as fast. Please sign our #PayIn30Days petition.

3. Main Event Questions to our Celebrity Business Owners Panel on #MicroBizMattersDay. If you've got a question the answer of which would help you in your business with winning #customers or improving #cashflow then just tweet it with the hashtag #MicroBizMattersDay. Our Head Roadies will select the best and pass to Tina and Tony who will ask the questions of the panel.
