Only one month to Christmas Day!
The speed with which this year is passing is breathtaking. My Year 5 boys took great delight in reminding me this morning, that there is only one month to Christmas Day!
Let me provide you with a reminder of some of the events in the run-up to the end of term.
- Tuesday 29th November Year 5 will be performing in their Poetry Evening
- Thursday 1st December Years 3 & 4 will be Carol Singing in the Whitgift Centre
- Friday 2nd December selected boys will take part in the Christmas Tree expedition
- Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th December is The Lower School Play
If you can make it, please come to the Whole School Carol Concert on the 14th December, this is always a lovely evening and an opportunity for everyone to come together ahead of the festive season.

Year 1 learn about senses |
|
This term, Year 1 are learning about senses as part of our work in Science. They have been looking at how their senses keep them safe and out of danger, by looking at each sense in turn. During our ‘Sight’ lesson the boys wore blindfolds and tried feeling objects in trays and using their friends to help them navigate around the classroom. We also considered how sometimes our eyes deceive us and watched a clip of the Einstein mask revolving - try it and see! |

Year 3 learn about instruction texts |
|
The boys have looked at instructions found at home, for different purposes and followed instructions for making a pop up card. They have compared different instructions to find out what makes them easy to follow and effective.
After learning about how the Roman’s built their roads, they followed instructions to make an edible Roman road, and identified the important features of the instructions. |
