Tis the season to get crafty. And artsy. And just all round creative. I for one am looking forward to the holidays, and our region brings much to do over the festive time - from festival launches to markets and art exhibition - much to see and do. We'll be back in February next year with a few changes - just to shake it up!

THEATRE

2016 Program of joy!

The Orchid and the Crow was our last show for the 2016 Phee Broadway Theatre program. We really loved bringing you this program - we tried to include a lot of variety and we partnered across Council to bring as many shows as possible to Castlemaine and to the Phee. The responses from our performers were awesome. They all really loved performing in the Phee. They loved our audiences and they loved being a part of the program. Now we want YOUR feedback. If you came and saw a show as part of our 2016 program we would really appreciate you completing our short survey which will help us know the things you liked and the things you would like us to change.

VISUAL ART

Groove is in the Heart: Minna Gilligan

Minna Gilligan works primarily with painting, drawing and collage. Her practice speaks of fleeting, personal encounters with the past and present, and manifests in a tumultuous reconciliation of both. Though her artworks reference 1960s/ ‘70s psychedelia and evoke a nostalgic romanticism – with lone women floating in technicolor dreams – her work is atemporal, existing in a utopian space of imagery filtered through the digital realm.

Market Art - Summer Exhibition

A wide range of local artists are exhibiting their work in the historic Market Building as part of the Market Art - Summer Exhibition. The exhibition runs until Sunday 12 February 2017. Free entry and all are welcome to browse or purchase local artworks.
