Boy, time really flies, doesn’t it? A year ago we sat here, cans empty, wondering how it would all go down. “If we build it, will they come? Will they like the beer? Will we ever get to sleep in our beds again?” As we look back on our first year, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and relief. It turns out they did come and they do like the beer, and we even get to sleep in our beds now (sometimes). We learned that our vision for Castle Island wasn’t ours alone, but yours, too. You also share the same vision for great beer, without pretense, centered around a community of camaraderie and an endless desire to be proud of what we do.
It’s fun sometimes to look back at the numbers. What was once a team of 4 is now a team of 17. Our launch-day lineup of 3 beers has grown to nearly 20 releases over the last 12 months. We’ve done 217 tastings, participated in 20 festivals, worked with 9 charities, and we even won an award (what’s up, Chuck?!?!). It’s been a wild year so far, and it’s not even over yet.
As we look forward at next year, we have a whole bunch of great things in store. We’ll be opening our taproom, releasing a number of new beers to market, and further growing the Castle Island team and footprint. We have other things we’d love to tell you about now that will just have to wait, but trust us – 2017 will be a year for the ages. We couldn’t have come this far without you, and we can’t wait to go even further with you, so thank you for your support, encouragement, and love of our beer. You guys are the freakin’ best.
