Healing Grace News

In This Newsletter
December 2016
Dear <<First Name>>,

"'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause
great joy for all the people. Today in the town of
David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah,
the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a
baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host
appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
'

Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on
whom his favor rests.'"

- Luke 2:10-14

Wishing you and your family a joyeous Christmas season as you celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Because every child deserves a chance,

The Healing Grace Team

Closing out 2016

Once again, we find ourselves looking at the last page of the calendar wondering where the year has gone.  It's amazing to look back and see all the people that God has woven into the story of Healing Grace this year.  Through your generosity, prayer, letters, and visits, you have been a vital part of the Healing Grace that exists today.  THANK YOU!!

As we close out this calendar year, we want to update you on a few financial items.
  1. 2016 Giving Statements - These will be sent via email no later than January 31st.  Add communications@healinggraceministry.org to your contact list to ensure it doesn't get flagged as spam.
  2. Year-to-Date Giving Statements - We will be emailing you a year-to-date giving statement this week.  Sponsorship is $360 per year per child, so if you're behind on your giving, this is your reminder! If you don't receive it by Friday, December 9th (check your spam first), contact us at healinggrace@kdec.net.
  3. Christmas Gifts - As we shared in last month's newsletter, this year's Christmas gift is two blankets and a bible for your child and their family for $30.  You can give by logging into the sponsorship portal and choosing the "Christmas gift" link or by mailing a check* with "Christmas" in the memo. All checks can be mailed to Healing Grace Ministry, PO Box 2126, Rockwall, TX 75087.
  4. Year-End Gifts - The most difficult needs for us to meet each year are the critical medical needs of the families we serve, averaging $45 per child each year.  This year, your year-end donation will support those critical needs.  Give today by logging into the sponsorship portal and choosing the "general donation" link or by mailing a check* with "Year End Gift" in the memo.  All checks can be mailed to Healing Grace Ministry, PO Box 2126, Rockwall, TX 75087.  A small gift makes a long-term impact.

Stories from the Field

Samer's parents divorced three years ago.  He was living with his mother in his grandfather's home.  Samer was sad and silent the majority of the time.  He wanted to see his father, but his father refused to come back to the family.  The local church pastor was trying to help settle the disputes between his parents, but it was futile.  Healing Grace staff spent time praying with Samer during the home visits and asked Healing Grace sponsors to pray via the prayer newsletter. God answered those prayers!  Three months ago, Samer's father returned home to live with his family.  Samer is very happy and trusts in God to hear his prayers.  Samer is committed to the weekly discipleship group.

Issac is in 3rd grade.  He was very naughty and the teachers in school and at church always complained about him.  His family and the Healing Grace staff think that he was sexually abused because he acts out in strange ways, such as taking off his pants during tutoring and getting angry when he sees his mother staying beside his father.  The Healing Grace staff talked with Issac's parents about child rearing and they decided to start attending Building Healthy Family club (a bi-monthly meeting for parents to learn how to be the parents God intended).  Issac's parents began attending regularly and learned how to care for him, follow up with him, and not beat him.  Issac's behavior started to improve.  Please pray that there would be continued improvement and commitment in Issac's family.
I want to receive the Prayer Newsletter!

Each month, we send a longer email with specific prayer requests.  If you aren't receiving that email and would like to, click the button above and we'll make sure you are added to the list!
