Dear friends in Wellbeing,

The gift of running my ten week program, which is designed to help us experience energised and fruitful days, has been revisiting the habits again myself. As a group we support each other to make sustainable tweaks in our lifestyle to enhance our daily experience.

In support of this week's habit, I decided to move towards experiencing Brahma Muhurta. This is a sacred time of day lasting 1hr36 minutes preceding the dawn. It presents the best chance in our 24hr clock to tune into the space and ether elements, in silence and stillness, with pollution from humans at its lowest.

I have had a routine of waking early to go to yoga for many years. The hour of the day remains the same, regardless of the season. So whilst in winter I was cycling in the dark to the shala, now in summer it is light already.

I asked Uncle Andrew, a long time early riser who watches the dawn break over the bay (from his bed with a cup of tea), what time light was actually breaking and realised I didn't need to wake too much earlier to catch the end of Brahma Muhurta.

I started going to bed earlier and three days in, I fall asleep delighted at the prospect of waking to experience this time of Brahma, the divine self. This morning I was up before the birds, although the Kookaburra had a loud "hurry up" squawk at me as I started dawdling with my morning routines......and I enjoyed half an hour at the beach with this energy.

To me, this time of day represents the pause between the inhale and the exhale, the field of potential that surrounds us, the neutral space within us that allows us to choose, to respond rather than react. The pulse between night and day, rest and activity, being and doing.

Starting the day with this perspective has already become very enticing! I am enjoying arriving at the shala in a more receptive mood and the short time I am spending at the beach before the sunrise is proving to be more meaningful "me time" than my asana practice, something I would never have predicted.

During this period of high motivation, I have set an intention to experience the full 1hr36 on summer solstice - Wed 21 Dec.

If this practice sounds appealing, I encourage you to rise 15 minutes earlier than usual, sneak out quietly, enjoy the magic, and come back refreshed in the deepest sense. Let me know how you are getting on, how you experience the rest of the day and whether you will be connecting on summer solstice.

The next group program begins in April 2017 and private programs are available for immediate start. If you would like to schedule a free strategy session to chat about your health goals for 2017, book direct on www.invokewellbeing.setmore.com

Big love
Yolanda
