DECEMBER 2016

Big thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the publishing of BRANCHED last month at Drama Book Shop! We had a wonderful turn out and sold lots of plays. Director Robert Ross Parker and actors Tara Westwood, Andrew Blair, Marguerite Stimpson, Amy Kim Waschke and Thomas Muccioli gave a fantastic performance!

The play is now happily sitting on the shelves at Drama Book Shop ready for purchase and can also be found online at Original Works Publishing

I'm on a mission to get the play on as many regional and university stages as possible, so if you'd like me to gift a copy to your alma mater, please let me know!

Two days after the election, The Collective issued a challenge to their writers: create a piece from what you are currently feeling and send it to us within 7 days. I was feeling a LOT, so I wrote a new one act called THE CARVING. It was presented on December 1st as part of C:NXT WE THE PEOPLE, an evening of pieces springing from the current political climate. The cast was brilliant and I'm looking forward to more opportunities to share the piece.

Speaking of The Collective, I have another short play premiering with them this week. CHECK-OUT, directed by Malinda Fickle and featuring Kevin Kane and Khalil Muhammad opens Wednesday December 7th, plays for 5 performances and closes on December 10th. It's part of an evening of 5 short plays, 3 of which are being published in C:10 Vol. 4, the company's annual short play anthology. Tickets will sell out fast!

Oh, and if you'd like to come celebrate the launch of the anthology, we'll be at Drama Book Shop on Monday December 12th from 5 to 7pm!

The generous folks at Project Y Theatre have invited me to do a mini-workshop with them this December, spending some concentrated time developing one of my plays. With their support, I will be diving deeper into my play GOOD RIDDANCE. A great cast is assembling and the wonderful Kel Haney will direct!

I am happy to be presenting a scene from my play SKIN IN THE GAME on Monday December 12th 7:00pm at this month's Second Monday Social (#SMS) with InViolet Theater. Follow this link for all information and instructions on how to RSVP!

InViolet Theater does a weekly member spotlight called INVIOLET INFOCUS, where they interview one of their artists. I had my turn up at bat last week! To read the interview, click here.
