Dear Parents,

The Year 6 students and teachers are well into Time Tours for this year. As yet I am still to see a performance, but I have heard nothing but great reports, and the students are having a great time. Well done to you all.

Next Monday, we will be having the Year 6 Graduation Assembly at 9.30am in the Mercy Hall. All members of our School Community are very welcome to join us for this. The Graduation Mass will take place on Monday evening at 6.00pm. It is an expectation that all year 6 students attend both of these events and that they wear formal school uniform for both. We look forward to celebrating this very special time with our Year 6 students.

On Friday, all students will spend some time in their classes for 2017. Staff have worked very hard to place all students in appropriate class groups. Staffing for 2017 is as follows:

In last Sunday’s Gospel according to Matthew (3:1-12) we heard this scripture story:

John the Baptist preached in the wilderness, “Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near.” He wore clothes made of camel hair and his food was locusts and wild honey. People came from far away to be baptised by him in the River Jordan.

Family Focus for the Second Week of Advent

When we prepare to meet someone very important, we want to look our best. We clean up, have a shower, put on nice clothes. When we prepare to meet Jesus, we do a spiritual clean up – we get rid of the sins that make us shabby and clothe ourselves in goodness, grace and love.

Shopping during Advent

Dear God, as I look through my gift shopping list, I hold up to you each person listed on it. Slowly, one by one, I ask that the fire of your abundant love burn within each of them.  I pray that the gift I find for each person will bring joy into that life.
