Mit den Vorstellungen am 30.11. und 01.12. am Schauspiel Frankfurt als Abschluss der Europa-Kulturtage 2016 der Europäischen Zentralbank ging das Jahr 2016 für das DANCE ON ENSEMBLE erfolgreich zu Ende. Eva-Maria Magel schrieb in der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung über das Ensemble, es zeige „ein phantastisches tänzerisches Können, das jedem augenfällig werden lässt, was für ein Potential verloren ginge, könnten solche Tänzer nicht weiter tanzen." Rückblick 2016

Das DANCE ON ENSEMBLE feierte in seinem ersten Jahr 4 Premieren: 7 Dialogues von MATTEO FARGION, Water between three hands von RABIH MROUÉ, Those specks of dust von KAT VÁLASTUR, und Catalogue (First Edition) von WILLIAM FORSYTHE. Gastspiele brachten die Tänzer u.a. nach Den Haag, Hamburg, Malmö, Ludwigshafen, Donostia / San Sebastián, Düsseldorf und Frankfurt / Main. 

Die Produktionen wurden von Publikum und Presse, sowohl national als auch international, begeistert aufgenommen. Im Jahrbuch der Zeitschrift tanz kürte Dorion Weickmann das Ensemble mit Water between three hands zur 'Kompanie des Jahres' und das Ensemblemitglied Jone San Martin, der Regisseur Rabih Mroué und die Choreografin Kat Válastur wurden als Hoffnungsträger 2016 ausgezeichnet. 
 

Vorschau 2017

Derzeit arbeitet das DANCE ON ENSEMBLE mit der amerikanischen Tanzikone DEBORAH HAY an Tenacity of Space (Premiere 24. März 2017 am tanzhaus nrw, Düsseldorf). Im Januar kommt der renommierte belgische Choreograf JAN MARTENS nach Berlin und erabeitet mit den Tänzern das Stück MAN MADE (Premiere 11. März, Kampnagel Hamburg).

Für 2017 sind außerdem ein weiteres Kurzstück von RABIH MROUÉ sowie eine Zusammenarbeit des Ensembles mit drei wunderbaren Tänzern der schwedischen Kompanie Jus de la Vie und JOHANNES WIELAND geplant.

DANCE ON ENSEMBLE 
the end of a successful first year
 

The performances at the Schauspiel Frankfurt on 30 November and 1 December marked the end of a fruitful season for the DANCE ON ENSEMBLE. The company had been invited to close the European Cultural Days of the ECB - Germany 2016. Eva-Maria Magel wrote in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that the ensemble’s six dancers displayed “fantastic ability, making it abundantly clear how much potential would be lost if such dancers were not to be able to keep on dancing.” (FAZ, 2 December 2016)

Looking back at 2016

In its first year, the DANCE ON ENSEMBLE celebrated 4 premieres: 7 Dialogues by MATTEO FARGION, Water between three hands by RABIH MROUÉ, Those specks of dust by KAT VÁLASTUR, and Catalogue (First Edition) by WILLIAM FORSYTHE. Guest performances took the dancers to Den Haag, Hamburg, Malmö, Ludwigshafen, Donostia/San Sebastián, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt/Main, among others.

The productions were enthusiastically received by audiences and the press, both in Germany and internationally. In the yearbook of the magazine tanz, dance critic Dorion Weickmann nominated the ensemble for the title of ‘Company of the Year’ for its production Water between three hands. Dancer Jone San Martin, director Rabih Mroué and choreographer Kat Válastur were all given the accolade of ‘Beacon of Hope’.
 
 

Looking forward to 2017

The DANCE ON ENSEMBLE is currently working with the American dance icon DEBORAH HAY on Tenacity of Space (premiere 24 March 2017 at tanzhaus nrw, Düsseldorf). In January, the acclaimed Belgian choreographer JAN MARTENS will come to Berlin to create a new piece, MAN MADE, with the dancers (premiere 11 March, at Kampnagel Hamburg).

2017 will also see the creation of another short piece by RABIH MROUÉ and a collaboration with three wonderful dancers from the Swedish company Jus de la Vie and choreographer JOHANNES WIELAND.
