Merry Christmas Friends!

As I reflect on 2016 one thing continues to stand out, God's faithfulness. Twenty-four children--cared for by 3 couples, in 3 homes--continue to learn that they are loved and are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Lord.  Our staff continues to grow. This year we expanded the Business Manager position to full-time and added a full-time Communications Director to help magnify the reach of SWR.

This year a very generous donor gave $62,000 towards the soon-to-open Strain Home for Infant & Preschool Children. This gift combined with many others provided all the furnishings, playground, updates, toys, and so much more.  The Infant and pre-school home will allow us to serve 7 more children, keeping more siblings together.  We will also be available to serve as emergency placement for the youngest of children in the foster system. Currently, we prayerfully seek the Houseparents for the Strain Home. Each month we see the much-needed increase in our consistent giving through the Faithful 500 Monthly Giving Plan.  We only need around 190 more donors dedicated to supporting our mission each month.

As we approach our year-end, we have set a goal of $130,000. This will help us purchase a greatly needed van for the Love Home. The current 10-year-old van has almost 200k miles. The year-end giving will help us provide new children's bedroom furniture in the Ridout Home. The current furniture is almost 10 years old. The remainder of the monies will be used to help SWR through the leaner months of 2017.

Each year I continue to be amazed at your generosity towards the children of SWR. Thank you for continuing to give children a chance. Thank you for giving them the Godly family and environment they need. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
