Year 10 Camp Facilitator | Hillcrest High School are looking for a Bush 1 Instructor who has some experience running/instructing youth camps with an ABL focus. Must be available for a leaders training camp on the 31st January to 1st February and be available for the 3 week programme from the 20th February to 9th March. There may also be an opportunity for Bush instruction work throughout the year.

Model Students for Sea Kayaking in Nelson
This is a fantastic opportunity to be a model student for a Sea Kayak 1 assessment in Nelson on the 15th or 16th of December (or both!).
Gear hire available for $20!! There are two different sessions being run – a journey based session for those of any ability (including beginners) and an upskilling session for those with a bit more experience. Contact: Attn: Nat - admin@nzoia.org.nz - if you are keen or know of others who are.

Messages from the Office
Save $350.00!
If you want to have your current NZOIA qualifications recognised as National Certificates with NZQA free of charge then you will need to have your Trainee Agreement package in to the NZOIA office by 31 December 2016. After this date the cost of achieving Recognition of Current Competency with NZQA is $350.00. So don’t lounge about, get in now and save yourself this money for other Xmas purchases.
Currently you can RCC your NZOIA qualifications to gain a National Certificate in Abseil Leader, Bush Walking Leader, Kayak Leader, Rock Climbing Leader, Sea Kayak Leader, Bush 1, Kayak 1 and Rock 1. You can use your higher level qualifications to achieve these credits. There are many members that have requested that they would like access to the National Certificates. This is our first step and your first opportunity towards making this happen. Put your words into action and get those applications in. The office closes on 16 December 2016 and staff will be on leave during January. If you can get your application in asap it has more chance of getting processed in time before the free fees cut-off date.

Next week is the last week in 2016 that the NZOIA office is open!! Time for a holiday! We will close on Friday 16 December and will reopen on Monday 9 January 2017.
