Winter 2016
Volume Four of the Sad Bastard Music Club has been in progress for a while. It's not quite there yet. A little peek into how I compile these -- I aim for about an hour of music and it's usually (though not explicitly) pulled from the stuff I happen to be listening to. Which means if I'm listening to all the same stuff, well I don't add stuff to the Sad Bastard playlist because, well, you've already heard it or something like it recently. I try to keep each list fairly unique.
However, I have, in the past, done holiday playlists of various sorts, and I have a playlist in iTunes (two, in fact) of Christmas/Solstice/Channukah/Wintereenmas/what-have-you songs that I don't hate. In the beginning, the list was ironic. Like, I hate Xmas music so I'm going to get a list of the worst-possible Xmas songs because that sounds like a good time, right?
Truth is, I don't actually hate all Xmas songs. But it wouldn't be a Sad Bastard playlist without some "bah humbug", amirite? So, I give you the first edition of the Sad Bastard Winter playlist, which I hope hits the mark somewhere between camp and legit holiday music while still leaving room for a potential 2017 version...
