Lovelady Concert | Dec. 14

Volunteer & Donate
This is the third year that we will host the ladies and their children from The Lovelady Center for a Christmas dinner and concert (December 14). We continue this tradition because we believe that it is both important and worthwhile. These ladies and their children are made in the image of God, just as we are; sinners, in need of a Savior, just as we are. Come gather with the body of Christ from Covenant and Lovelady to fellowship, celebrate, and worship together. There are many ways to be involved: visit with the ladies during dinner, help with the kids program, bake a dessert, set up/clean up, decorate the classrooms we will be using, or make a donation to help underwrite this event. (Volunteer; Donate)

Congregational Meeting

On Sunday, December 11 please remain in the Sanctuary immediately following gathered worship to elect our new slate of officers and at-large nominating committee members. Please review and prayerfully consider the nominees (CLICK HERE) before our congregational meeting. Overview of Nominees

Nursery Bonus Fund

Please consider donating to our Nursery Bonus Fund. The fund is a wonderful way to bless the women who so lovingly take care of our nursery children at various events throughout the week! You may submit your gifts through Sunday, December 11, by dropping your donation in the offering plate, at the nursery desk, or in the marked envelopes in Sunday School. Please make checks payable to Covenant, marked for the Nursery Bonus Fund. You may also give online at covpres.com/give by typing in your amount in the "Other..." box and marking it for "Nursery Bonus Fund" in the "Description" box.

Breakfast for Restoration Academy Students

Tuesday-Friday, December 13-16, we have a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to serve the students of Restoration Academy. You can help make and/or serve breakfast to the Jr. and Sr. High students before their exams. We need volunteers in the kitchen at Covenant starting at 6:00 a.m. to prep the food. We will head out to Restoration at 7:00 to serve breakfast to the kids at 7:30. Sign up today!

Need a Babysitter?

Need a date night? Have a Christmas party to attend? Need to buy presents? We have teenage girls who want to go on Winter Retreat and need the funds to do so! Support CovPresYouth by hiring a CovPres Youth babysitter in December and January. To book your babysitter, contact Rachel Shields at shields.rachel.c@gmail.com.
NOTE: make the subject of your email CovPres Babysitter, and please try to schedule at least 24 hours in advance.

End-of-Year Giving

The church office will be open on Saturday, December 31, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon to receive any final contributions for 2016.

Family Promise & Community Furniture Bank

Many people have asked how to help our Family Promise families when they are able to move into their own apartment. There is a great way to help that helps you as well—The Community Furniture Bank of Birmingham (CFB, a 501(c)(#)). Any furniture, appliances, linens, lamps, kitchen items, etc. that are in good, working order can be donated to CFB. The families are able to shop at CFB for the items they need without paying. For larger items, CFB will happily come pick them up. So clean out your attics and basements, and help our Family Promise friends—it's a win-win! Email Barbara Thompson for more information at babsfthompson@gmail.com.
