WORLD AIDS DAY SERVICE
Service Of Remembrance & Justice

Thursday, December 1st is the World AIDS Day Service of Remembrance and Justice at 7pm. It will be held in the Sanctuary of Metropolitan Community Church at 819 S. 22nd Street and is put on by the Nebraska AIDS Project and faith leaders from around Omaha. We will hold this sacred space together with bold speakers, prayer, memory and music. There will be a light reception to follow. More Information can be found HERE.
PROPHETIC MEMORIES
This Advent we are called to “Remember & Dream,” so First Forum will explore the theme with “Prophetic Memories,” a series on the Hebrew prophets December 4, 11, and 18 led by Sarah Malena.

Join us for Christmas Caroling and a progressive party this year on Wednesday, December 21.  We'll gather in two or more groups in different locations around the metro for dinner at 5:30 p.m., then carol a few of our homebound members, before winding everything up with hot chocolate and cookies.  Please let us know by Sunday, December 18 if you'll be participating so we can plan appropriately.  Any questions, contact Stephen Bouma.

OUTREACH NEWS
Our Habitat House is almost finished. The home will be dedicated on Saturday, December 17th at 10 am. The address is 3935 N. 21 st St. Everyone is welcome to come and see our handiwork and meet the family that will be the proud new owners of the house. We want to thank all the members of the First Central Habitat Team who helped in the construction of this house and furnished lunch to the workers. Thanks also to those who have contributed financially to the cost of the house.

UNITED CHURCH NEWS
During the season of Advent, when Christians prepare for a celebration of welcome with the birth of Christ, who himself was a refugee, United Church of Christ leaders are calling the church to extravagantly welcome Syrian refugees who have fled their war-torn country.

Family of Bette West, who died last week; Rita Grossenstein’s mother, Betty Stewart, recently hospitalized and now at Hillcrest; Gary Kiel, recovering from surgery.
