Our Community's Letter to WMATA about Proposed Service Cuts to White Flint Station
More than forty property owners, businesses, and civic and home owner associations signed our letter to WMATA. The letter said that decreasing service to the White Flint metro station, as proposed by WMATA, would be extremely detrimental to the Pike District.  After all, it's tough to have transit-oriented developemnt without transit.  You can read the letter here.

Board of Ed Votes for Capital Improvements in the WJ Cluster
The Montgomery County Board of Education approved capital improvement projects totaling $411.7 million that include expansions of Bethesda’s Ashburton Elementary School and North Bethesda Middle School.  Read more here.

What You Need to Know about the Western Workaround and New Conference Center Garage Construction
They have begun working on the first of two phases of the White Flint West Workaround transportation project and the new conference center garage. The first phase of the road construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of calendar year 2017.  Additionally, the existing surface parking lot at the conference center will be converted into a new 650-space, six-story parking garage. MCDOT Launches a Naming Contest for BRT
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett launched a naming contest to brand the County’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which in the next few years is expected to transform the transportation alternatives available in the County. You can vote for the name at www.GetOnBoardBRT.com. Read more here.

Think Pike District for Your Holiday Shopping
Sure, you know the Pike District has dozens of delicious restaurants, but did you also know we’ve got more than 200 stores at which you can easily do your holiday shopping?  Of course, there is Pike and Rose and North Bethesda Market, but there are also mom and pop shops and chain stores all over our area.You can find a searchable list of both the fun and practical stores in the Pike District at http://pikedistrict.org/shopping
