New Vision News

November 30, 2016

Hello, and welcome to New Vision Ministries' newsletter! My husband Timothy and I believe that even though we are all disabled by sin, Jesus Christ enables us to do anything according to His will. Thank you for reading our quarterly letter, and thank you so much for supporting us as we continue to reach out to others.

Chaplain Tim and I have begun devoting more time to our website, www.mynvm.com. Nearly all of the design work is finished now. Luckily for us, we have learned how to add content and change the order of pages on the site without any help. Lately we've been adding a few pages describing our hospital ministry, our entertainment ministry in nursing homes, and a school for blind children we've begun to support (more on that later).

In Addition, we continue to update our devotion blog, adding a new message each Wednesday. We hope you'll check out our website and read some of our informative content.

Our nursing-home and care-center business, New Vision Entertainment, continues to go well. On several days each month, Timothy and I visit nursing homes in the Maricopa County, AZ area. I play piano, while Tim serves as my emcee and plays the recorder, a small flute, during a few songs. Sometimes Tim will also deliver a short Bible message, so that we can minister to the residents. Based on the reactions of residents and staff alike, we're doing a pretty good job!

If you know about any nursing homes in Maricopa County, please let us know about them. If not, we'd really appreciate your prayers for the continued success of New Vision Entertainment. Thank you!

Would you like to join one of Tim's Bible studies? Each weekly study is conducted by telephone on a conference line. A new study takes place on Mondays at 5:30 PM Arizona Time. Our audience currently contains a few people from New York, and we go over what the Bible has to teach us about living the Christian life. Each study session lasts about 1 hour. We are currently in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 3.

Instead of a Bible study, would you rather participate in a prayer meeting? A couple months ago, Tim and I started just such a meeting, which is conducted on Tuesdays at the same time (5:30 Arizona time), using the same conference line. Tim will start off each meeting with a short scripture, and then we'll tell God what we're thankful for and bring our needs to Him in prayer. We hope you'll join us and add your own contributions to these meetings.

If you'd like to join either the Bible study or prayer meeting, please call our conference line number (712-775-7031, meeting ID 607518748). We hope to see you there!

Would you like to become a prayer partner with us? If you'd like to help us pray for others, or you would like to involve your church or another Christian organization in New Vision Ministries, please send an email to scburdick@outlook.com.

And now, for our featured article! This article is co-written by Chaplain Tim and Dwight Sayer, a visually impaired man who supports the Jamaica School for the Blind. We hope this article will encourage you to give this school your support and your prayers.

"Compassion is the ultimate value in life. Service is the ultimate action."

--Jonathan Huie

Hi, my name is Dwight Sayer, and I would like to tell you about the Salvation Army School for the Blind in Kingston, Jamaica. I am blind myself, and I lead our Mission for Blind Children at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.

I know all about the opportunities, technology, and support which blind people in the U.S. enjoy. These blind children aren't so lucky. That is why I would like to tell you more about us.

The Salvation Army School for the Blind educates, trains and ministers to blind and visually impaired children. Some of these children have multiple disabilities, including deafness and autism. I have found these children to be both challenging and incredibly positive about themselves. It is the intention of administrators and instructors to foster growth and an atmosphere of high expectations, positive attitudes and a deep love for our Lord.

This is the only school for blind children in the entire Caribbean. It houses 130 blind and visually impaired students who need all the support and help we can provide.

So if you are looking for a great cause and want to obey our Lord, consider helping these blind children. Every dime you choose to donate will go towards providing for the needs of these children and furnishing their school with accessible technology and materials. By helping these kids to learn and grow strong, you will be giving them a proverbial cup of cold water in Christ's name.

If you would like to donate individually, or your church would like to donate to this school, please go to www.gofundme.com/blindchildren today! These generous gifts help the Missionaries for Blind Children, and the kids want to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for giving them a chance at life.

And on that note, our latest newsletter comes to a close. Once again, don't forget to check out our devotions at www.mynvm.com whenever you need some spiritual encouragement.

We would love to hear from you. This is your ministry, and we want you to share with us how we can improve . If you have any questions, please write to us at scburdick@outlook.com.

Thanks for reading this, and we hope you will have a very happy and blessed holiday season!

God Bless,

Stephanie and Timothy Burdick
