2016, WE HARDLY KNEW YA!

Out With the Old and in with the New

The Image Comics edition of PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND is officially scheduled for release on February 22, 2017. If you have the existing book, I can tell you the new version is basically the same, BUT it has a new cover and will have some bonus content in the back (at the moment I'm thinking a pin-up and a two-page story that saw print elsewhere. But you saw a sneak peek of it in last month's header image, but here's the full cover for the new book:

So, the new book's currently available for pre-order through your local comic shop if you give them the item #DEC160764 (Page 228 of this months Diamond Previews catalog)...or you can pre-order it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or wherever you might order books. Search for my name and look for the cover above.

To that end, if you know a comic shop that should order it and you want me to reach out to them personally, tell me the name of the store and who I should talk to and I'll make that call. If you want me to mention your name, I'm happy to do that.

But what about the version that exists now, the one I self-published? Yeah, so this is a slight pickle, because I want to hype up the new edition...but still want to sell the copies I have...so let's make this deal: if you want the new version, I thank you in advance for telling your comic shop to order it or pre-ordering it from wherever. But, if you want a copy BEFORE February 22nd, like, say, as an awesome gift for whatever winter holiday you enjoy: I've got copies to sell, and I'm selling them at a deep, DEEP discount (Heck, Amazon says they have one copy in stock for $9.75 as I type this), which you can read about right now…

THE PIX CLEARANCE SALE!!!

Let's do this, gang...for less than $10 you can get the first edition, now only print run, of PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND. I only printed 1500 copies of this book, and with Image taking over the publishing, that's all there will be.

If you go to pixcomic.com/store and enter the code PIX63 at checkout, you will get 63% off the printed book. SIXTY-THREE PERCENT OFF!!! That means you'll get a copy of the book for under $10 including shipping, which...suffice to say this is not a profit-driven agenda.  But I wanna sell these books!

If you have or know a kid, girl or boy, between 9 and 14 years old (or younger if you want them to grow into it), this is an super easy holiday gift...I mean...not to twist your arm or nothin'.

[I'm EXTENDING the coupon code validity period...you can get this discount though December 25, 2016...yeah, you want to buy it ON Christmas, you can totally do that...you very much will not get it ON Christmas in that case, though]

PIX STUFF!

Yeah, yeah, enough about book one, what about book two?! As of this writing, I've got 17 pages left to ink...so it's practically done! I'm confident that come the new year I'll be in coloring mode, plugging away.

In the meantime, here's a super lame sneak look at the new cover to book 2, PIX: TOO SUPER FOR SCHOOL:

I know...lame. And it's not even April Fool's Day.

HODGEPODGE & POTPOURRI

Just some other stuff to round out some goings on that have nothing to do, really, with Pix, which...is there nothing else I can talk about, right?

WACKY MAN: THE RISE OF A PUPPETEER
This is a independent documentary about a guy and his dreams of being a puppeteer. It's really very good. It's just over an hour long and I'm in it. You can check it out on
vimeo. (Did you take advantage of the offer code last month...?)

MY ANNUAL "HOLIDAY" CARD
Every year I create a
digital holiday card, usually having tangential or non-holiday sentiment (hence the quotes above). I have an idea for this year (my 15th year, as a matter of fact)...I just need to draw it. I'll post it to my website and will post it on social media (i.e. Twitter), so you can keep an eye out for that.

#DECEMBEAR
Speaking of
Twitter, if you follow me there you'll have noticed over the past month I've been doing something called #Nounvember, where for the month of November I tweeted a noun every day. Why? Because I thought it was funny. But wait, there's more! The last nine or so nouns were bear-related as a lead up to #DecemBear, where I'll be tweeting out a bear every day. Which 31 bears did I pick? Follow me on Twitter to find out!
