Changes To How GPs Support Injured Workers
In May 2016, WorkSafe Victoria (WorkSafe) and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) introduced new activities that GPs can undertake to support injured workers and TAC clients to return to work.
GPs can now claim reimbursement for phone calls to employers, worksite visits and experience more flexibility in conducting and billing return to work case conferences.
From 1 January 2017, invoices using the original item code RTWCC will not be paid. To ensure prompt payment for case conferences, please use the new item codes.

Alzheimer’s Australia Vic Release The Dementia Guide
Alzheimer’s Australia Vic yesterday released The Dementia Guide and accompanying online resources to support anyone who has been impacted by dementia.
The 150-page A5 booklet and online resource have been designed to help and offer support to the 97,000 Victorian’s living with dementia as well as their family, friends and careers.
The Dementia Guide is available as a hard copy from Alzheimer’s Australia Vic by calling (03) 9815 7800, emailing alzvic@alzheimers.org.au, as an online resource and available for download from www.fightdementia.org.au/vic.
The publication is divided into sections relating to the various stages of dementia and can be read as a whole or focused on parts relevant to the reader. Each section begins with key points with an overview in an easy to understand format.
Free support is available through the National Dementia Helpline 1800 100 500, who provide telephone information and support service available across Australia.
University Of South Australia Seek Views Of Health Consumers Providers On Integrative Health Care
In a nation-wide research study, researchers from the University of South Australia, in partnership with Flinders University and Endeavour College, are seeking health consumers and providers to participate by providing their views and needs.
The research study will inform a new approach to delivering health services to Australians, Integrative Health Care. This approach seeks to bring together a broader range of services to better meet the needs of consumers.
Findings from this study will be used to develop a new health care service delivery model for primary care.
