The library will once again be part of Rosendale's celebration of Frozendale! Please join us for fun, cookies and gift shopping.

AT THE LIBRARY:

10am-11am Holiday Stories for Children with Miss Annie

10am-3pm Gifts, Library Canvas Bags and Great Used Books for Sale, 3 Gift Raffle Baskets: Jazz Lover's Gift basket, Pet Lover's gift Basket, and Mexican Food Gift Basket. Tickets are $1 each and 6 for $5.

3pm Gift Basket Raffle Drawing and closing of the sale

4pm Parade from TransNDanceNDrum to the Library for 'Lighting of the Library' , Holiday Carols and cookies.

Special thanks to the Woodcrest bakers for their delicious cookies.

Please stop by the library on your way to all the great special events planned by the Main Street businesses throughout the day!

Board Note:

Board Meeting
Wed, Dec 14th 7pm

The regularly scheduled monthly Library Trustee Board meeting will be Wednesday, December 14th at 7pm instead of the usual third Wednesday of the month. Everyone on the board wishes to wish our staff and community a happy healthy holiday season.

Book Donations

Accepted until Dec 15th

Rosendale Library will be accepting used books until Dec.15 this year. We will begin collecting used books again in May of 2017. In between January and May you can donate used books to the Elting Library in New Paltz and the Stone Ridge Library.
Please no encyclopedias, condensed books or magazines. We do accept DVDs in working order. If you would like a letter for your taxes please count the number of hardcovers and paperbacks separately and fill in our worksheet when you come in. We do not assign a value but will mail you a letter on library letterhead for your taxes. Thank you for your generosity!

Toys for Tots

Donations accepted
until Dec 16th

Rosendale Library has a collection box for the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Toys should be new and unwrapped.
The toys will be picked up on December 16. The library is open Mon, Tues and Thurs 11-7:30pm; Wed and Fri 11-5pm; and Sat 10-3pm.

How To Welcome the New Year

A couple of years ago I was at a New Year's dinner where we went around the table and shared our Resolutions. I had recently read Bowling Alone, a book with data showing that over the past few decades we have stopped joining PTA's, bowling leagues, even having friends over for dinner. My New Year's Resolution was to volunteer for something. I wanted to feel like I was contributing something to my community. I joined the Friends of the Library, a group of warm, friendly, intelligent people. Consider making it your Resolution as well!

Stone Soup

This year at our Stone Soup celebration, we read Stone Soup by Ann McGovern. "Fancy that". We also read Stone Soup by Jon J. Muth and ate stone soup and cornbread, prepared by Mr Chris and Miss Annie.

Come join us Thursdays from 10-11am.
