Engaging with new ideas and an innovative vision for what Durban as a port city could be like was the aim of the symposium held at DUT Steve Biko Campus recently.The Urban Futures Centre (UFC) and the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance (SDCEA) jointly hosted the first ‘Inclusive City Symposium’, focusing on the port of Durban.

DUT’S MR GREEN A FINALIST FOR KZN’S TOP MODEL


With just a few months after being named DUT’s Mr Green Campus Initiative (GCI), Brian Ndimande is one of the top finalists for KwaZulu-Natal’s Top Model South Africa.

Ndimande who hails from Glencoe in Dundee is a first year Taxation student at the University. The ambitious, big dreamer used to watch Fashion TV and would try to mimic other models not knowing that one day he would make it this far in his modelling career.

DOUBLE WIN FOR DUT AT MACE 2016

The Durban University of Technology won two MACE Awards at the annual Marketing, Advancement, Communication in Education Conference and AGM in Durbanville last week.

DUT, who have won more than 23 MACE Awards in the last three years, was nominated in eight categories.

Providing a platform to critically assess and share reflective insights on learning, teaching and assessment, formed part of the 5th Learning, Teaching and Assessment Symposium, which took place at the Coastlands Hotel in Musgrave recently.

Issues such as transformative curricula, graduate attributes, first year student experiences and innovations in teaching and learning dominated talks at the three-day symposium.
