Positively the last call for tickets for the Fish and Chip Supper and Miniquiz, this coming Wednesday 7th December. Email Mike on tozermike@hotmail.com before close of play on Monday to secure your tickets. It is a very relaxed and informal pre-Christmas get together for everyone, with a bit of a quiz thrown in.

RENEWALS - Please Read
The recent AGM agreed unchanged membership fees for 2017 (hooray) and we're sending out the annual renewals (using our new IT system, “Sailing Club Manager”, which is very exciting for the accountants amongst us). You should by now have received your invoice - it will be in the form of an email from:
admin@scm.papercourt-sc.org.uk
(If you have not already done so please put this in your regular contacts list)
The easiest way to pay is to click on the link in the email and pay by card. That way the membership system gets updated automatically and immediately unlike with BACS let alone cheques, so no need for the membership team to reconcile 400 payments by hand. You’ll see there’s a 10% discount for payment before 15 January. However, if you can pay as soon as possible they’d be very grateful.
If you can’t see the invoice in your inbox please can you check your junk folder, and if that does’t work (or if you want to query anything) email Judith at:
membership@papercourt-sc.org.uk
Thanks from the Membership/IT team
Sailing on Boxing Day - From the Duties Team
This picture depicts sailors in 1930's Australia, boxing on Boxing Day. We do things differently at Papercourt:

Looking for something to do on Boxing Day? Fancy helping Charlie Beck open the ICE Box series? We are keeping the Boxing Day duties open to volunteers as we recognise that many people are away, or have long-standing commitments, and yet there are others looking for a good excuse to get out of the house and have some fresh air and daylight! Charlie will run the racing as timetabled, in whatever form is appropriate for the day. Sign up to support him using Dutyman in the usual way!
The Hartleys - still jamming
The kind people at Hartleys have not taken away their fleet yet, so if anyone is still interested in trying one out, contact Tom Key on tom_key@hotmail.com as soon as possible. Those that have had a go so far have given very positive feedback, so why not have a go.

Prizes Prizes Prizes - and a delicious dinner!
For those that missed it, the Annual Dinner was a delightful evening at Hoebridge Golf Centre, and many thanks to Kirstie Hawkes for organising, thanks also to the Sailing Secretary and the Trophies Officer for ensuring that all those present who had won prizes picked up the correct trophies. If you were not there and would like to view the complete list of everyone who has won club prizes this year, go to this link to have a look:

New Year - New Social Events
The Social Team never stop and the first two events for 2017 are already firmly on the calendar. First is of course the First Footer - a day of racing to blow the New Year cobwebs away on 1st January. The racing is for everyone, and the bar will be open. Members are invited to bring along their Christmas leftovers to make a convivial sharing lunch.
Moving on to Wednesday 18th January, we have a Pie and Pint night where our very own Tall Ship sailor, Mike Tozer will share some of his adventures sailing with the Jubilee Sailing Trust in the Pacific Ocean last year. Tickets £8.00 please book as per the details of the poster below.

Tom Bromley
It is with great regret that we learnt that young Tom Bromley lost his fight against cancer last weekend. Tom was a keen youth sailor, and later youth trainer, and was an enthusiastic and cheerful presence around the club even as he battled with disease. Tom was the inspiration behind the annual youth Sailathon, and will be much missed, especially among the youth sailors, and the whole youth team. Jeremy Riley, Rear Commodore
