Dear Community Leaders,

Yesterday I got in touch with an old friend who I had the privilege of walking close to when he came to faith about 4 years ago. Soon after, he went to Hong Kong where I think he struggled somewhat. By a series of coincidences (!) I struck up a conversation with him on Facebook this week and found out he had moved back to Liverpool!! He said he would come for dinner soon to catch up and wanted to bring a friend. I really don’t know where his faith is up to but connecting again and inviting him was very natural and I‘m now praying he and his friend are open to God and get to know folk from our community. I don’t know about you, but I would love to see more ‘coincidences’ occurring. I would love to grow as a witness and see sharing the good news with those I meet as the most natural thing. What about you? In fact, as I write this, I wonder if it is because over the last term I have been looking at growing in this area of ‘connecting’, ‘sharing’ and ‘inviting’ that this coincidence, along with a few others, has happened. Perhaps God is always at work and we can miss what he is wanting to do…
If you have similar stories, I would love to hear them!

At the community leaders gathering in November we looked at some tools that would help us as disciple makers grow in connecting, sharing and inviting. We looked at the journey of a disciple maker and thought about what barriers we faced in our own journeys to making disciples. If you missed it, or want a recap, then have a look at the notes attached from the two sessions on Saturday morning. There are also some online video resources below we have found to be really helpful at equipping us as disciple makers so feel free to have a browse at them too. Finally, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas isn’t it!! Jen and I have just got round to putting a date in for our Christmas mince pie and mulled wine evening on our street so just need to go and invite people now. Coop’s video from last Christmas has been on my mind for this season… we just never know what an invite or act of kindness might lead to…

Much love,
