As our Nutcracker Tea Party draws near, our dancers and staff are working extra hard to put on a fabulous production! The week leading up to the performance, commonly known as Tech Week, includes extra rehearsals. In order to accommodate these extra rehearsals the week of December 12-16, some of our other classes have been combined or moved just for the week.
ALL DANCERS SHOULD REVIEW THIS SCHEDULE. Contact Miss Jeanne if you have questions about which class(es) your dancer should attend during Tech Week.
Salish Sea Ballet will be closed for Winter Break from December 19 through January 1. Schedule and holiday closures are always available on our Class Schedule page.
Audition Season - What is a summer ballet intensive?
As January rolls around, dance schools across the country prepare students to audition for summer ballet intensives. Summer intensives are an in-depth study of ballet (many include other dance genres as well), which vary in length from 1 to 5 weeks. Hundreds (maybe thousands!) of summer intensives are offered at dance schools across the country. Summer intensives generally cater to dancers age 11 & up who are interested in serious study of ballet.
Dancers wishing to pursue a career in the dance field are strongly encouraged to attend a summer intensive. However, summer programs are beneficial to all dancers. Experiencing different teaching styles, building strength & endurance, gaining experience with partnering, performing, and making new friends are a few of the reasons to attend a summer program.
Salish Sea Ballet maintains a list of summer intensives and can advise you on which programs are best suited for your dancer. Contact Miss Jeanne for more information!
Happy Holidays From Salish Sea Ballet!
