Advent Fest, this Sunday Join us for an inter-generational community arts and activity time after worship. Everyone is invited to come enjoy Christmas-themed crafts, snacks, music, and holiday fellowship. We're looking for volunteers - If you're interested contact Sabina Shaughnessy or Doug Vitro

SE Portland Youth Collective This Sunday the Southeast Portland Youth Collective will have its first gathering. The youth collective is a chance for high school youth from a variety of local churches and different faiths to come together, have fun, and engage in deep discussions around faith, justice, and the role of youth. We will be meeting at Sunnyside Community House (3520 SE Yamhill St.) at 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Food provided. Contact Doug Vitro for more information.

Advent Walk @ the Grotto, Friday December 9 Meet up with other church members and MPC staff at the entrance at 6:30 p.m. to check out the lights and enjoy some outdoor caroling before going inside for the concert by Kevin Lambert and the MHCC choir. Tickets to the festival are $11 for adults. thegrotto.org/christmas-festival-of-lights/

Drop-in” to this year’s Christmas Pageant Dec. 11! Children are encouraged to participate the morning of the pageant with no rehearsals necessary! Kids who arrive at the sanctuary at 9 a.m. will choose a costume for the morning and receive directions. Those with pre-assigned readings and musical roles should arrive also at 9 a.m. to assemble all the moving pieces!

Thanksgiving Pies Many thanks to the MPC members and friends who baked and donated 128 pies for Portland Rescue Mission. Cash donations bought 65 meals.

Baptism is a tangible reminder of God’s love and grace in creating, nurturing and healing each of us. God’s promises are for everyone. Please let Pastor Katie Pate know if you’d like to learn more about experiencing the sacrament of baptism for yourself and/or your children – all ages are welcome!

Christmas Boxes Food items still needed include: canned chili, cornbread mix and hearty soups. Also, be on the lookout for non-food items families can’t buy with their food card.  Items we still need include:  dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, and paper towels. Please call Kelley Gutman with questions at 503.944.9811.
