NOTES: “How are you Supporting my Child?” What Parents Should know about SFUSD Support Services and Strategies as a parent, guardian, or caregiver, do you ever dread “The Call”? The one from your child’s teacher or principal telling you of something negative that your child has done. Do you ever
wonder “What is the school doing to help my child?” This workshop will focus on services and
strategies that SFUSD principals, teachers, and staff should provide to all students. These
services and strategies are not only best practice, but in many cases a requirement before any
discussion of a special education referral or change of placement. Participants will leave this
workshop feeling more confident about what to expect from their child’s school and what
questions to ask if they feel their child is not receiving enough support. Food/Prizes/Fun
