Are you ready for ADVENT? VBP's next Mass, Saturday, December 10th at St. John Vianney in Northlake begins at 6am! Why the early hour? The "Rorate Caeli" (Latin for “Drop down dew, ye heavens”, the opening words) Mass anticipates the Light of Christ as the sun rises.

The "Rorate Caeli" Mass is celebrated during Advent  in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary: certainly well worth some early-rising!  To read more: http://www.onepeterfive.com/rorate-caeli-mass-advent-tradition-honoring-lady/

November Update

Thank you so much to all 122 people who attended the Mass at St. Adalbert's on November 12th! And thank you for your generosity in raising $890 for the Preservation of this magnificent church! After Mass, we enjoyed delicious Pilsen Mexican cuisine, and were inspired by Fr. Welsh's talk on the Gospel of John and Blanca Torres' talk on the history of St. Adalbert's.

To learn more about the St. Adalbert Preservation Society and their efforts to save this Chicago treasure, please visit: http://www.savestadalbertchurch.org/ and sign the Petition here: https://www.change.org/p/petitioning-archbishop-blase-j-cupich-stop-the-closure-of-st-adalbert-parish.

We were also delighted to see the Mass shared on the social media of the Catholic periodical "Regina Magazine" and the blog "Catholic Pilgrimage Sites." Thank you to everyone who is helping to spread the word!
