PKB Goes Live – December Update

It’s been another amazing year for us at Patients Know Best but none of the work we do is possible without the dedication of the teams we work with all over the world.

Thank you, Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

New PKB partnership with EMIS: ‘a significant step on the journey towards system integration within health and social care’.

Patients Know Best is delighted to be partnering with EMIS Health, the UK leader in connected healthcare software, to enable two-way record sharing – for the first time.

Talking about the partnership, Daniel Vincent, managing partner at Ryalls Park Medical Centre, one of the first organisations to benefit from using the new system said:

“When a patient owns their care plan, they feel more responsible for it as it’s their plan rather than one imposed upon them and that has a big impact on their lifestyle, behaviour, health and wellbeing. This project could have major benefits to us as a practice in terms of improving the care we provide and dramatically reducing the high levels of administration we currently undertake for complex patients. We see the partnership between PKB and EMIS Health to be a significant step on the journey towards system integration within health and social care. We’re delighted that our patients can be part of the initial roll out.”

PKB in The Economist Magazine
Patients Know Best was recently featured by The Economist Magazine in a large article reporting on the latest innovations in healthcare and medical records. The story features PKB customer Dr Zoe Warwick from Derriford Hospital. Plymouth. In the article, she says that PKB has already saved her department time and money.

“It [PKB] could revolutionise the NHS,” she says. “If I could roll this out across the whole trust, I would.”

New Lab Results Design
This month you will see the new view to the PKB test results page. The default lab results page maintains the safety requirements of aligning tests on the x-axis when they are from the same date, while still showing on the y-axis the actual values.

Results in range are green and those out of range are red. The former are a solid circle while the latter are a border only for colour-blind users. A plus in the circle indicates a comment from the laboratory e.g. a warning about a faulty sample.
