Good News!
Maxine (a Nottingham Distributor) and I organised an event on Saturday called 'How to be a successful network marketer'. At this event I gave a presentation on 'Beating the Recession' and Cynthia Litchfield, the first Black female global distrbutor in the UK, gave a powerful talk on her success in network marketing and this was followed up by a powerpoint presentation on the Genie by Ras Kwesi.
The event was a great success. We only booked a room to hold 30 people thinking that would be a great number. In the end over 40 people attended including two from London and two from Leeds!
We have had some really positive feedback and plan to put on other business oriented events. Just as importantly we had people coming forward at the end of the event saying they definitely want to join the Genie business.
What can be learned from this event...
Lessons to Learn and Use
-
THE POWER OF TEAMWORK - The Nottingham event worked because of teamwork. Maxine was the main organiser and publicist. My name as a speaker helped to attract people. Ras Kwesi was our link to Cynthia and gave a presentation on the Genie. Cynthia was our living example of success and provided proof that each of us can be successful in this business. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE work with other people in your locality. You will find that the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts! We have: Maxine, Veronica, Janine and myself in Nottingham. Davy and Ras Kwesi in Birmingham. Karl, Krystal and Winona in London. Jendayi, Donna, Cliff, Maria, Morowa, Chipo and Joshua in Bristol. Then there is Danny in Atlanta (Danny you can direct people you know in the UK to events we organise over here). I have previously sent you each other's email addresses but let me know if you need to be linked up again.
-
EVENTS, EVENTS, EVENTS - If you are going to succeed in this business you need to organise events. There is nothing like face to face contact, even for an internet business. If you work with others it is not difficult. You have me ready to come down and support you, Ras Kwesi ready to come down and support you, Cynthia ready to come down and support you. What more do you need?! If there are big genie events in your area (as in Bristol and London and Birmingham) go along and see how the experts do it. We found that having the Genie presentation as part of a more generic business focused event worked well.
-
Don't INNOVATE FOLLOW THE RULES! - There is no need to be innovative or creative, just follow the tried and tested methods of growing your business. Listen in to the conference calls. Sign up to Simon Brookes' email list by going to www.simonbrookes.info Use the Genie website. Ras Kwesi has started conference calls on Fridays at 7.00pm on skype. If you don't have a skype account get one today for free from www.skyype.com and participate in the conference calls. Copy those who have been successful.
-
TREAT IT LIKE A PART-TIME JOB. Success in any business requires hard work and the Genie business is no different. Assign a certain number of hours a week to work on your business.
-
THE POWER OF THE CHURCH - The Genie can be a great fundraiser for Churches and community organisations. There was a brother at the event on Saturday who wants Cynthia to come and give presentations to his church and others in Nottingham. He is also interested in the business for himself. If you have contacts in the church use them!
-
USE YOUR NETWORKS! Use your existing contacts and links. Maxine used the County Council's Black Workers' Group mailing list to promote the event. Work your lists!
-
START NOW - Procrastination is suicide by installments!
That's it for Now. I look forward to being invited to your events!
Success is your birthright, Claim it.
Best Wishes
