Blue Ocean Awards 2016

Wednesday 30th of November, Paris Bercy

The 3rd edition of the Blue Ocean Awards took place recently, at the Ministry of Finance, in Bercy. This event, created by HEC Paris and AXESSIO in 2014, rewards SMEs and Start-ups creating new Blue Ocean market with their innovative solutions.
Julien Levy, Stéphane Madoeuf and Romain Lavielle from the HEC Paris Digital Business Specialization were part of the jury.
Some HEC Alumni have been rewarded:
  • Blue Ocean Awards MENTORS: Agorize, co-founded by  Charles Thou (H10), a 50-strong start-up that specializes in organizing online innovation challenges.
  • Blue Ocean Awards BABIES: Advitam, founded by Philippe Meyralbe, a simple, personal and seamless funeral management platform for half the price of traditional services, currently supported in HEC Incubator.
And is the INDIGO project, the robot that simplifies the life of users in car parks that won the Blue Ocean Award Hackathon (carried by students from HEC Paris, Ecole 42 and Ecole des Mines)!

StandUp for women entrepreneurs!

From 5th-10th of December, HEC Campus

Standup is an entrepreneurship program dedicated to women with social impact projects. During one week 30 women benefited from 10 workshops and advices of nine speakers and experts to develop and accelerate the development of their social business projects.
Feedbacks are very positive, the “Entrepreneures” have been impressed by the level classes and that HEC professors come to meet them in La Courneuve, 
where is currently settled the social impact incubator. More workshops will follow: Week 50: Workshop "Jugaad", Week 51: Workshop "Accounting", Week 52: Workshop "Business Plan"

Point Vision, 6th on Top 200 Start-Ups 2016

HEC EMBA / Incubator / Challenge+ Programme 2010 - in French

Point Vision Group gets the 6th ranking on the Top 200 Start-Ups of EY&L'Express study.
The company aims at developping a network of 50 first line ophthalmology centers in France. 16 centers have already opened in Paris, Lyon (2), Marseille, Bordeaux, La Défense, Créteil, Poitiers, Troyes, Aubagne, Grenoble, Voiron, Montpellier, Toulouse, Lille, ... Some key figures 2015 revenues: 20 M€, 350 employees, 900,000 patients.
François Pelen (H92), has co-founded Groupe Point Vision with Patrice Pouts. Both are Executive MBA, François entered HEC Incubator in 2010 and followed courses at HEC Challenge+ Programme the same year.
